River Street is a touch of nostalgia in the memory of Changde people.

It was once a prosperous "Xiangxi Grand Wharf", where Qu Yuan, Liu Yuxi, Shen Congwen, Huang Yongyu and so on chanted poems and splashed ink. Later, it gradually fell silent in the smoke of war.

Since 2015, the Changde Municipal Government has rebuilt Changde River Street on the north bank of the Chuanzi River to create a historical and cultural district integrating tourism, leisure, vacation and residence, and insist on repairing the old as the old and restoring the prosperity of the past.
