30 January 2024 is the 5th World Day of Neglected Tropical Diseases, with the theme "Together, Action, Elimination". In accordance with the requirements of the "Notice on Doing a Good Job in the Publicity Activities of the World Neglected Tropical Diseases Day 2024" (Jin CDC Di Yi Han [2024] No. 14), in order to promote the prevention and control of "neglected tropical diseases" in Pinglu County, the Pinglu County CDC, together with county-level medical institutions and township health centers, carried out publicity activities throughout the county.
On January 26, the county CDC and the staff of the Shengrenjian Town Central Health Center hung banners and set up a publicity and consultation desk in Guyu Park to introduce the transmission route and symptoms of tropical diseases, how to prevent tropical diseases, how to treat them, etc., and to answer the questions raised by the masses about the prevention and control of tropical diseases in detail, so as to improve the self-protection ability of the people in Pinglu County. More than 600 brochures, more than 300 posters, more than 350 promotional handbags, more than 300 trolley pens, more than 470 homework books were distributed at the event, and more than 60 people were consulted by the masses.
At the same time, the county CDC organized and mobilized county-level medical institutions and township health centers to take advantage of the opportunity of "World Day for Neglected Tropical Diseases" to focus on the theme of publicity, carefully plan, innovate models, formulate practical publicity plans, and carry out publicity and education activities on the prevention and control of neglected tropical diseases such as kala-azar disease, soil-transmitted nematode disease, and foodborne parasitic diseases in combination with the epidemic situation of key parasitic diseases. Influential publicity activities to create a good atmosphere for the whole society to participate in the prevention and control of tropical diseases.
