According to Myanmar media reports, Aung San Suu Kyi's residence at 54 Daxue Road in Yangon City was auctioned off at a reserve price of 315 billion kyats.

The property was auctioned by the court because of an estate dispute between Aung San Suu Kyi and her brother.

No. 54 Daxue Road, Yangon, was originally owned by Aung San Suu Kyi's mother. In 2016, the Western District Court of Yangon ruled that a two-storey building and half of the land in the property should be divided among the property, and the other one-story building and the other half of the land should be divided among her brothers.

On August 22, 2022, the Supreme Court of the Union of Myanmar issued a final judgment on the basis of his brother's application, and the auction was held.

In 1947, General Aung San, who had devoted himself to the cause of Burmese independence, was unfortunately assassinated, leaving a historical regret in the hearts of the Burmese people. After the murder of General Aung San, the Burmese government in the early days of independence and the Burmese government showed compassion for his family and bought this 1.923-acre No. 54 courtyard on the shore of Inya Lake and donated it to Du Qingzhi, the widow of General Aung San.
