The 21st edition of the Singapore Heritage Festival will take place from 1 to 26 May 2024!

Organised by Singapore's National Heritage Board, the Singapore Heritage Festival aims to help people understand the stories of Singapore's iconic buildings and landmarks.

The Singapore Eye also launched a live broadcast on April 30 to coincide with the event, take a sightseeing bus to take you to explore Singapore's treasures, hurry up and make an appointment!

This year's event celebrates Singapore's rich architectural heritage and the 40th anniversary of its Total Defence strategy. Through tours, walks, exhibitions and other exciting activities, participants will be able to immerse themselves in exploring Singapore's architectural treasures.

Travel excursions

甘榜加卡卫理教堂(Kampong Kapor Methodist Church )开放日

Located in Singapore's Little India district, the church was founded in 1890 and is one of the earliest Peranakan churches in Singapore. During the event, you can come here to admire the beauty of the church's stained glass and architecture, or listen to the organ recital, which is one of only a dozen organ recitals in Singapore.

37 Emerald hill site游览

Founded in 1899 by a group of Peranakan Chinese, it was the first girls' school in Southeast Asia. The school's old campus block has been architecturally preserved thanks to the joint efforts of alumni and the community.

The tour will take you on a journey through the architectural treasures created by local architect Seah Eng Choe, learn about the nostalgic stories of teachers and students, learn more about the school's founders, their important contributions to the development of the Straits Chinese community and girls' education, and witness the transformation of Emerald hill, Cairnhill and Orchard Road.

Climb aboard the bus for a special guided tour of Changi Naval Base to learn more about the lives of the soldiers who defend the territorial waters, explore naval history and hear stories of sailors on a tour of the Naval Museum, and learn about Singapore's naval heritage and increase a sense of pride and admiration through a tour and experience part of naval life.

Pioneer Leader Talk

There were four presentations, each delivered by a different pioneer leader in Singapore. Listen to the National Archives story and unlock the story of the nation of Singapore through archival collections.

ArClab: 3D Laser Scanning for Heritage Conservation

Try 3D laser scanning at the historic ArClab townhouse for the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a 3D laser scanner and better understand how 3D laser scanning technology can help document and preserve historical heritage.

ArClab: Hands-on workshop on decorating and cleaning tiles

ArClab has a collection of Chinese-style historical tiles originating from Europe and Japan, and through workshops, you will try your hand at cleaning decorative tiles in the historic Building Conservation Laboratory (ArClab) townhouse and learn about these historic tiles and the various cleaning techniques used in heritage conservation.

Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry Exhibition

Visitors will enjoy a 20-minute video screening and a sensory exhibition. Learn how the SCCCI Building has become a century-old building and get a glimpse of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry's 100-year-old collection, with some of the star artefacts dating back a century on display.

Showcasing the story of Singapore's education from the early 19th century to the present day, explore with the Ministry of Education's Heritage Centre.

Although Singapore is an ultra-modern country, it is home to a large and rich collection of sites and architecture, including 75 national monuments, more than 7,000 listed buildings, and many other sites and buildings that commemorate extraordinary journeys. A tribute exhibition that will step into Singapore's vibrant architectural heritage, delving into the themes of nature, commerce, community, housing and governance, and showcasing the intricate connections that have shaped Singapore's architectural identity over the years.
