On January 22, the latest data released by the National Statistics Service of Georgia (Geostat) showed that Georgia's foreign trade increased by 12.5% year-on-year to $21.53 billion in 2023.
In 2023, Georgian exports increased by 9.1% to $6.09 billion, while imports increased by 14% to $15.44 billion. The trade deficit was US$9.35 billion, accounting for 43.4%.
Turkey is Georgia's largest trading partner with a trade volume of $2.98 billion, followed by Russia with $2 billion, the United States with $2.05 billion, China with $1.64 billion, and Azerbaijan with $1.52 billion.
Azerbaijan is Georgia's largest export trading partner with $860 million, followed by Armenia with $790 million, Kazakhstan with $700 million, Kyrgyzstan with $690 million, and Russia with $660 million.
In terms of imports, Georgia's largest trading partners are Turkey ($2.6 billion), the United States ($1.95 billion), Russia ($1.74 billion), China ($1.33 billion) and Germany ($948 million).
