I am from Georgia, a female pianist, a sixth-generation descendant of Beethoven, and I didn't want to leave to study in China

This is the 3,681st real story we have told

Despite its small size and sparse population, Georgia exudes an irresistible charm with its stunning natural scenery and rich historical and cultural heritage.

Her polyphonic music, in particular, is rich and infectious, and has long since become a cultural treasure that the country is proud of.

From a young age, I was deeply influenced by my mother's love for music, which for me has long since transcended the realm of art and has become an integral part of my life.

Now, with my mother's expectations, I have set foot on the land of China, hoping to start a new musical journey here, explore more musical mysteries, and realize my musical dreams.

(I'm like a blooming jasmine, fresh and elegant)

I am a post-90s generation with a Chinese name of Jasmine, inspired by my beloved Chinese classical music "Jasmine".

My hometown is Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, a small city in Europe with a rich history, a vibrant culture and a thriving economy, and is the political, economic, cultural and educational center of Georgia.

I was the fourth in a loving family with three older brothers.

My eldest brother has loved Georgian dance since he was a child, my second brother is good at wrestling, and my third brother is quite famous in the Georgian diving world and has been promoting the family brand of wine in China for many years.

I am light, well-proportioned, and beautiful, and I have had a strong interest in dance since I was a child.

However, in the eyes of the eldest brother and mother, girls should learn music, especially playing the piano, so that they can exude elegance and nobility.

(Mother, my solid backing, the source of motivation)

My mother's family has a brilliant track record in the field of music. She has dreamed of becoming a musician or singer since she was a child. Since I was born, she has pinned these unfulfilled long-cherished wishes on me.

When I was a child, I fell asleep peacefully and woke up leisurely to my mother's singing. It is a melody full of love, warmly accompanying me to grow up.

After that, she taught me singing techniques and asked me to follow her main theme and try to sing harmonies. This kind of practice has given me a deeper understanding of polyphonic music.

At the age of 6, I entered the palace of learning, and in 1999, at the age of 8, I passed the selection and entered the N1 Tbilisi Conservatory (piano major), the number one academy in Georgia, to receive free education.

Here, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to my enlightenment teacher, Nana Akhobadze.

It was she who carefully taught me every key detail and technique of piano playing, which laid a solid foundation for me to move forward steadily on the road of piano.

(The third brother occupies a pivotal position in my life)

He also participated in his first concert with an orchestra (R.Takidze National Orchestra).

I will never forget the scene at that time: I was a little girl, standing on the stage with the members of the symphony orchestra, waiting for the result of the performance, and my heart was full of nervousness and apprehension.

When our performance came to a successful conclusion, my heart was filled with a deep sense of accomplishment when I heard the applause of the audience like a tidal wave and their smiling faces full of appreciation and joy appeared in front of my eyes.

At that time, I may not have fully understood the far-reaching impact and significance of this performance for me.

But undoubtedly, at that moment, I strengthened my love and dedication to music, and my yearning and pursuit of the stage.

Every year since then, we have been performing concerts in Tbilisi, in the concert hall of the State Conservatory of Music and in the opera concert hall.

The N1 Tbilisi Conservatory has produced many famous musicians, and I spent my wonderful youth here.

From 2007 to 2010, I had the opportunity to study piano at the E. Mikeladze Conservatory, during which I received a full scholarship.

My teacher, Lana Guldedava, is a professor at the Tbilisi State Conservatory and winner of the title of Best Accompaniment Pianist in Europe.

During my time at the university, I was actively involved in a variety of musical activities, including concerts, duets, quartets, and vocal performances, and participated in many regional international competitions and concerts.

Not only did he exercise his playing skills, but he also enriched his artistic vision.

Between 2010 and 2014, I attended Illinois State University, where I majored in piano and minored in International Relations.

During this time, I was awarded a full scholarship and had the privilege of being mentored by Nina Mamradze, an outstanding professor at the Moscow Conservatory.

As a sixth-generation descendant of Beethoven and a disciple of Prokofiev, I studied electroacoustic music in depth by attending three solo concerts and actively participating in international competitions during my studies at Iliauni.

In addition, I had the privilege of studying with the esteemed Professor Revaz Kiknadze, who is not only the director of the Tbilisi State Conservatory, but also one of the top saxophonists in Europe.

After graduating from university, my parents decided to let me study abroad in China. They believe that with the improvement of China's international status, this place will provide me with a broader stage for development. In addition, the third brother has taken root here, and my study abroad life will be safe and worry-free.

(Shenzhen - City of the Future)

In 2016, I graduated from the Chinese Department of Shenzhen Polytechnic and chose to stay in Shenzhen after graduation to continue pursuing my career dream here.

The reason why I chose Shenzhen as my new starting point in China is because it comes from the city of Shenzhen, which has a deep relationship with me.

And Shenzhen is not a place where you can come if you want to. If you don't have anything to offer, it's hard for you to gain a foothold here. Many people say, "It was Shenzhen that chose us, not us who chose Shenzhen." ”

Known as the city of the future, Shenzhen is a city full of vitality and innovative spirit, where foreign friends from all over the world gather to form a unique multicultural family.

I still remember that at that time, I was still learning Chinese at school, and every evening, I would find a quiet place to concentrate on practicing.

And my first performance in Shenzhen is a fond memory of my hard work.

(I'm happier than the students who won the competition)

One day, I happened to hear a boy playing the erhu, and the sound was so beautiful that I was instantly filled with curiosity about Chinese musical instruments.

And the boy also happened to be attracted by my piano sound, and he took the initiative to invite me to cooperate and participate in the school concert together.

We worked well together and the show was a great success. Since then, my musical journey in China has gradually unfolded.

Since then, I have participated in many concerts, including erhu concerto and piano solo, and I have also been actively involved in the performance of Chinese and Western instruments.

I am a teacher at Dadi Music School and a private tutor. Since 2021, I have led my students to participate in competitions every year.

I was amazed by how well the children were doing. Not only did they win the race, but they also won first place, and that sense of honor I still remember vividly.

To be honest, I'm probably more excited than they are. If I were standing alone on stage, I might still be able to keep my composure, but when I see the students performing on stage, my anxiety swells like a tide.

(I took a photo with the famous pianist Lang Lang)

But more than that, it was moved and joyful, and my heart seemed to be filled with happiness, almost overflowing my eyes. It's a real and beautiful feeling.

When there was a round of applause and cheers, I was so proud of my students. They did a fantastic job, they were fantastic.

Shenzhen is a vibrant city. Here, I met many talented artists and was invited to be a judge for Lang Lang's concert.

I have collaborated with artists in Nanyang to perform beautiful musical chapters. In addition, I got to know Lu Siqin, one of China's leading violinists, and I was amazed by his skills.

Special thanks to the famous oboeist Dr. James Huang, who helped me meet many famous musicians and made me a member of the Shenzhen music family.

Shenzhen is full of opportunities and is a place where dragons and tigers are hidden. I've met all sorts of interesting people, shared the stage with them, and presented a diverse musical scene together.

At the same time, I have also participated in many charity concerts and become the spokesperson of many Chinese brands and companies.

The rise of self-media has brought us a new online experience, and thanks to the real person interview platform, I have the opportunity to share my story with more people.

I hope that through music, more people can understand and fall in love with China. At the same time, I also hope to integrate Chinese and Western cultures to bring you a more diverse music experience.

To this end, I plan to organize concerts and student exchange activities to let the Georgian people understand and appreciate the rich culture of China, and at the same time, let the Chinese people also appreciate the musical art of Georgia.

(Me sitting on the judges' bench)

Today, China and Georgia have close relations and many opportunities for cultural exchange. I'm eager to do my part.

In Shenzhen, I met a lot of excellent musicians, and everyone was like-minded. As long as we work together, dreams can come true.

Although learning the piano is challenging, it can significantly improve our abilities and intelligence, enrich our emotions, exercise our brains, and make our minds more agile.

Teaching in China was challenging for me because I had to communicate in Chinese and the students expected me to teach them English. Even though I'm in music education, translating various musical terms also gives me a headache.

In addition, Chinese children learn piano at a young age, and how to communicate effectively with them is also a big challenge. But I'm willing to get to know them better and find the most appropriate teaching method.

Music knows no borders, and education knows no bounds.

On the road of education in Shenzhen, I often think of my music teacher, Nina Mamradz.

(Education is the infiltration and nourishment of love)

Her teachings are like a spring breeze, guiding me through the maze.

In her eyes, music is not only the interweaving of melody and rhythm, but also contains profound philosophy. She made me understand the true meaning of "never get tired of learning, never tire of teaching", and taught me how to keep learning and never stop.

I plan to continue teaching students, but I also want to reflect on my own abilities and hopefully be qualified for this job.

I think communication with students and parents is very important in the teaching process. Just like my own upbringing, I probably wouldn't have been on this path without the encouragement and support of my family.

Therefore, parents need to communicate with their children so that they can discover the joy of learning piano and stimulate their emotional resonance. Teachers, students and parents must work together to make progress.

(My Certificate of Honor)

I always remember to be grateful and use this as a motto in my life. Maybe it was because my mother showed me a good picture of my life.

As a child, I was very attached to my mother, and we often walked together. And she always finds many simple and beautiful things on the road.

For example, she will marvel at a beautiful flower or cheer excitedly at a flock of birds in flight.

Most people's hearts are often filled with all kinds of troubles and anxieties, and they ignore these beautiful little things around them.

Therefore, should we let go of the burden in our hearts and appreciate and discover the beauty in life?

The morning sun is warm and bright, which brings us a good start, and the drizzle in the afternoon also makes people feel good.

These are all gifts from nature that we should cherish and be grateful for.

(Music is part of my life)

So, every time I have a problem, I remind myself to be grateful for what I have now. My good health, my family, and the ability to play my beloved piano are all gifts from God.

Shenzhen has become a new starting point for my music career, and it is also the destination of my love.

In the beautiful city of Shenzhen, I have spent an unforgettable time and gained countless valuable experiences.

Therefore, I am always full of gratitude and cherish these small and beautiful moments of happiness.

Music knows no borders, and love knows no bounds.

I hope that in this land of China, which is full of vitality, especially in the vibrant land of Shenzhen, music will be used as a bridge to narrow the spiritual distance between the people of China and Georgia.

With the power of music, we will open a new chapter of mutual understanding, mutual respect and friendship.
