Everyone widened their eyes in surprise, covered their mouths and noses, and screamed, only to see that a raging fire suddenly ignited on Monk Faming's body. Soon, the wood around it was also ignited, and the fire was extremely fierce.
Many of the women wept and wept with grief, both touched by Venerable Faming's courage and full of doubts: "Can I ask for rain like this?"
Surprisingly, shortly after the fire started, the sky was really cloudy, and then the wind was strong and it rained heavily.
Looking at the long-drought earth, a big crack opened, and this heavy rain from the sky, like nectar, moistened this dry land. The withered crops, swaying, and dying.
This heavy rain was like spring dew, which brought the crops back to life. It's not the crops that are being saved, it's tens of millions of lives!
The heavy rain lasted for three days before it stopped, and the drought was relieved. People cheered loudly: God has long eyes, there is no endless road!
It turned out that there was a great drought that rained for two months, and the crops were about to die, and the villagers tried all kinds of ways to pray for rain, offering food and sacrificing livestock, but to no avail.
In the severe drought weather, the farmers' hard work for a year of harvest was not harvested, and the monk Fa Ming could not bear it and was determined to save the people from fire and water. His sincerity really touched heaven and earth, and God finally rained nectar.
People are grateful to the monk Fa Ming, and the elderly man takes women and children in a circle, kneeling in a row, they light incense, throw themselves to the ground, and bow reverently.
After the rain stopped, everyone looked at the remains of Monk Faming and found that Monk Faming's body was strong and not broken. From the outside, there is no damage at all, as if it is immortalized in the flames!
The whole body is as normal as usual, and the corners of his mouth often have his shallow smile. It's just that the skin of the whole body has become black and shiny, as if it has been coated with a layer of black paint.
After the prefect of Zhenjiang learned of this, he complied with the call of the people and wrote the feat of the monk Faming sacrificing himself to pray for rain into the chapter and played it to the imperial court.
Soon after, the imperial court issued an edict to give Yi the name "Black Lacquer Light Bodhisattva", and the disciples enshrined his body in the temple for the vast number of believers to bow down.
"Black Lacquer Light Bodhisattva" was born in the Yuan Dynasty, and his law name is Fa Ming. Monk Faming was born in a small rural village.
He was different from other children since he was a child, and when other children were playing and playing, he always sat alone and silently.
When he was very young, he followed his neighbors and often went to the temple to burn incense. When he recited the first sutra in the temple, he was deeply moved by the Buddha's teachings.
He loved the temple and the quiet, solemn atmosphere in the temple. He had a deep yearning for Buddhism, and when he was older, he became a monk at Chongfu Monastery in Laizhou.
After becoming a monk, he recited the entire Lotus Sutra fluently, which was long and almost 70,000 words. Very few people can memorize the Lotus Sutra, which shows that he is talented and has deep roots.
In addition to reading the scriptures, when he went out to make a fortune, if he met a pregnant woman with a big belly while going out, he would explain the "parables of medicinal herbs" chapter of the Lotus Sutra to the pregnant woman.
Why do you explain this chapter? Because this chapter is very wonderful, the Buddha said, "My words are like rain, and all these plants and trees on the earth, mountains and rivers are medicines." ”
It is the mountains and rivers that cure a person's disease. Walking towards the mountains and rivers, maybe the effect of the medicine will come sooner than the medicine.
The mountains and rivers are beautiful. Use mountains and rivers as a prescription, and mountains and rivers are a medicine.
When a person wanders in the green mountains and green waters, admiring the beautiful scenery of Shaoguang, he will forget his inner troubles, relieve the pain of life, and seek individual freedom and happiness.

Suddenly, dark clouds rose and the wind was blowing, and everyone was so frightened that they didn't know what to do. The men on the ship also lost their faces, and they saw that the ship was about to be destroyed.
Monk Fa Ming was not flustered at all. He said to everyone, "Don't panic, everyone! Recite the name of Avalokiteshvara all the time, and you will be safe and sound." ”
Everyone listened and hurriedly recited: "Guanyin Bodhisattva bless, Guanyin Bodhisattva bless!" Coincidentally, after a while, the wind and waves stopped, and the big ship crossed the river without danger.
The monk Fa Ming, that is, the "Bodhisattva of Black Lacquer Light", has countless stories of his circulation among the people. His kindness and good deeds are like a beam of light that illuminates people's hearts.
