On October 14, 2021, the Market Supervision and Administration Department of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region released the 2021 Food Safety Supervision and Sampling Information Announcement (Issue 34).

The small mill flax oil (1.8L/bottle, Ma Sanfu, 2021-06-28) linolenic acid (C18:3) produced by Ningxia Yi bottle fragrant grain and oil food Co., Ltd. was unqualified, and the inspection result was 23.7% and the standard value was 33.0~62.0%; the test result of linoleic acid (C18:2) was 41.4%, and the standard value was 12.0~35.0%.

Fatty acid composition is a characteristic physical and chemical index of vegetable oil, which can intuitively reflect the nutritional value of vegetable oil, and different vegetable oils have a relatively stable proportion of fatty acid composition.

The main components of fatty acids in vegetable oils are unsaturated fatty acids, of which oleic acid belongs to monounsaturated fatty acids and linoleic acid belongs to polyunsaturated fatty acids. Including oleic acid, linoleic acid, etc. are the main components of sesame oil fatty acids.

Flax oil is actually flax oil and has recommended indicators of linolenic acid content range. Failure to pass the linolenic acid test indicates that the flaxseed oil is not pure in quality and may be mixed with other oils.
