Xiao Longyou was born on February 13, 1870 in Ya'an, Sichuan, with his ancestral home in Santai County, Sichuan. In 1897 (at the age of 27), Xiao Longyou went to Beijing to participate in scientific expeditions, obtained gongsheng, and entered the career path from then on. In the late Qing Dynasty, he served as a county grand master, and served as the secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Agriculture and Commerce in the Republic of China, and held an important position. But he never stopped studying medicine, both Traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, and self-taught. Outside of his official duties, he often visited friends to practice medicine.

In November 1924 (at the age of 54), Sun Yat-sen went north to seek a republic, but suddenly fell ill and became increasingly ill. After Sun Yat-sen's death, German doctors performed surgical autopsies and found that there were indeed hard patches in the liver, and concluded that it was a malignant tumor, confirming the death of liver cancer. Xiao Longyou's accurate diagnosis is a sensation!

In 1926, Liang Qichao had blood in his stool and successively asked Western medicine and Xiao Longyou for diagnosis and treatment. He went to The Union Hospital for testing and found a black spot on his right kidney, which he thought was cancer. Xiao Longyou diagnosed that Liang Qichao had uremia and diabetes, which had nothing to do with the kidneys, and it was better to eat Chinese medicine and slowly adjust it.

In the end, Liang Qichao underwent surgery from Western medicine and removed his right kidney. However, the hospital's autopsy later revealed that the cherry-like black spots were actually hardening of the arteries, not cancer. Liang Qichao's blood in the stool did not improve much. This incident triggered a big debate on traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, saying that Liang Qichaobai was stabbed.

In 1930 (at the age of 60), Xiao Longyou stepped forward and raised funds with other famous doctors Shi Jinmo, Kong Bohua and others to establish the "BeipingGuo Medical College" in his own home, that is, the Terracotta Hutong Compound. Xiao Longyou served as the chairman of the board, trained a large number of Chinese medicine talents, and was a pioneer in Chinese medicine education.

In 1943, under the pressure of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the medical school was forced to close.
