At present, the V6/V6s motors that have been mass-produced and installed in Xiaomi cars have a speed of up to 21,000 rpm. Another V8s motor, which is scheduled to be available in 2025, can reach 27,200 rpm.
Not only that, Xiaomi has also pre-researched more advanced technologies.
Xiaomi Lab has completed the technical pre-research of the 35,000-rpm motor and adopted the innovative carbon fiber Aurora winding rotor process. This process uses laser in-situ curing technology to achieve a carbon fiber wound rotor, resulting in improved yield, preload, and higher speeds.
Lei Jun emphasized that Xiaomi will continue to increase investment in motor research and development and is committed to becoming a leader in the industry.
