A cup of coffee starts a busy day, "latte art is actually a lot like the process of starting a business, it has to go through hundreds of learning Xi and simulation processes, and you can integrate your innovation into it." Yang Gong Yifan, CEO of Shanghai Tize Semiconductor Co., Ltd. and entrepreneur of "Big Zero Bay", made such an interesting analogy.
In order to solve the problem of stuck neck of localized training chips, in 2020, Yang Gong Yifan and the entrepreneurial team of Silicon Valley returnees settled in "Da Zero Bay" and founded Taize Semiconductor, focusing on the research and development of high-performance general-purpose AI chips.
In just three years, the initial size of 8 people has increased to 62, and nearly half of the talents come from Yang Gong Yifan's alma mater, Shanghai Jiaotong University, which is across the street from "Da Zero Bay".
At the end of this month, Thailand will celebrate its third relocation in "Big Zero Bay". "Compared to the first time we moved into Building 3 three years ago, it should be at least 20 times bigger. This place is definitely a blessing for tech businesses. We have SJTU alumni and a lot of talent support. We are also very much looking forward to our strong growth in 'Big Zero Bay' and finally complete the transformation from a small company to a giant company." Yang Gong Yifan is full of hope for the future.
Starting from scratch 8 years ago, and now more than 3,000 hard technology companies like Taize have been nourished, and the rapid development of the "Big Zero Bay" actually has its own scientific and technological pedigree. As early as 2002, Zizhu High-tech Zone, the first high-tech zone in Shanghai with private enterprises as the main operation, was born in this area.
Relying on high-level research universities, breaking the invisible wall, in the past 20 years, the infrastructure has been expanded, the innovative elements such as government, industry, academia, research and funding have been efficiently coordinated, and the regional positioning has been iteratively upgraded.
"In April and May this year, the Minhang District Science and Technology Commission moved the functional departments to the 'Big Zero Bay' as a whole, increasing its concentration, and focusing on the services of a large number of science and technology start-ups, turning this place into a good ecology that can support the large-scale and sustainable development of the science and technology industry. Zhang Zhigang, general manager of Shanghai Zero Bay Venture Capital Co., Ltd., said.
With universities and research institutes as the core, from the suburbs to the urban areas, a piece of science and technology innovation hot land has broken ground on the map of Shencheng, gathering talents, technology and capital, and at the same time, it is also necessary to make the innovative organisms rooted here vibrant.
