Modern Express News (Reporter is Zhong Yin) On December 15, the Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences released a picture to understand the "Research Report on the Ecological Environment of China's Lakes - Poyang Lake". It is reported that this series of graphic products, based on the "Research Report on the Ecological Environment of China's Lakes", presents the current situation of China's important lakes in the way of data visualization and scientific popularization, diagnoses the status and development trend of the ecological environment, and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions for the ecological environmental protection, governance and restoration of lakes and their basins.

The report analyzes ecological and environmental problems, and lists "frequent floods and increasing water droughts" at the top of the list. Since 2000, the annual average water level of Poyang Lake has fluctuated. There is a large seasonal variation in water levels during the year. Among them, 2020 is a typical flood year, with the highest water level of Xingzi Station reaching 22.63m; 2022 is an extremely dry year, with the lowest water level of Xingzi Station of 6.46m, and even the phenomenon of "reverse drought in flood season" occurs.

At the same time, the report pointed out that after the ban on fishing in the Yangtze River, the fish and finless porpoise populations in Poyang Lake have recovered. According to the observation data of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, there are more than 700 finless porpoises in Poyang Lake. The finless porpoise is a national first-class protected wild animal, and Poyang Lake is one of its most important habitats.
