Israeli forces found the remains of two more hostages Nineteen of Hamas's 135 unreleased people have been confirmed dead

Israel said today that it had recovered the bodies of two more hostages, bringing the fact that 19 of the 135 people still held in Gaza are now considered dead of the 135 hostages taken by Hamas on 7 October.

Reuters reported that the Israeli government's press office noted that the 19 people identified as dead included one Tanzanian national, but did not mention his name.

The Tanzanian government had previously claimed that two Tanzanian students had been taken hostage by Hamas. Tanzania's call for Hamas to release the two hostages has not received any response, and the Tanzanian authorities do not understand the significance of Hamas's abduction of its citizens, given its consistent support for Palestine.

Agence France-Presse reported that Israeli authorities have identified the hostages and notified their families. One is Ziv Dado, a soldier, and the other is Eden Zecharya, a civilian who was abducted at the Supernova Festival on October 7.

Zechaya "suffered upper body injuries when she was kidnapped" and her boyfriend was killed on the spot during the October 7 Hamas attack.
