On the afternoon of November 9, the 2023 China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week "Junpin Xijiu Cup" Go Invitational Tournament came to an end in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. After 3 days and 6 rounds of fierce competition, 16 Go teams from 8 ASEAN countries and 8 domestic cities finally announced the team rankings of domestic and international teams.
The tournament was guided by the Secretariat of the Organizing Committee of the China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week, co-sponsored by the China Weiqi Association, Guizhou Provincial Sports Bureau, Guiyang Municipal People's Government and Guizhou Tourism Investment Holding (Group) Co., Ltd., and exclusively titled by Guizhou Xijiu Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd., attracting 8 ASEAN countries from Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, and by Tianjin, Chongqing, Shanxi Taiyuan, Zhejiang Quzhou, Hangzhou Chess Academy, Henan Kaifeng, Eight domestic cities in Kunming, Yunnan Province and Guiyang, Guizhou Province formed teams to participate in the competition, and a total of 48 Go players at home and abroad met friends and competed in chess in Shuangshuang Guiyang, Guizhou.
The competition adopts the latest Go competition rules and point arrangement system approved by the Chinese Go Association, and is conducted in the form of a team competition. The basic time for each side is 40 minutes per round, and the second is counted at a time of 30 seconds. At the same time as the competition was carried out, the organizing committee specially invited two world Go champions, Jiang Weijie and Tang Weixing, as guests to conduct live commentary on each round of the competition and carried out guidance activities with 8 teams from ASEAN.
After 3 days and 6 rounds of competition, Hangzhou Chess Academy, Tianjin, Chongqing and Henan Kaifeng won the top four in China, and Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand won the top four in ASEAN.
On the afternoon of the 9th, nearly 200 people, including relevant leaders and invited guests of the organizing committee of the competition, and nearly 200 people, including participating teams, referees, media groups and volunteers, attended the award ceremony after the competition. The ceremony was presided over by Xu Jie, director of Guiyang Chess Institute (Guiyang Chess and Card Management Center), and after the referee Zhang Yifei read out the results of the competition, the relevant leaders presented awards to the winning teams of China and ASEAN. With Huang Jun, deputy director of the Guiyang Sports Bureau, announcing the closing of the competition, the 2023 China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week "Junpin Xi Wine Cup" Go Invitational Tournament came to a successful conclusion.
