On June 13, 2021, the opening ceremony of the "Hongyi Master Huang Fuhai Master-Apprentice Calligraphy Collection Exhibition" was held in the Art Museum of Beijing Li Keyan Painting Institute. The President of the World Federation of Buddha Education, the Vice Chairman of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Chinese Overseas Chinese Federation, the Senior Advisor of the Council of Monks and Kings of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Chairman of the Cambodian-Chinese Buddha Education Society, and the 46th generation of Zen Buddhism and Tendai Buddhism, Master Ming Yi, attended the event as invited guests.

Zhang Jinwei, advisor of the China Association of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting, librarian of the National Museum of China, secretary general of the International Association for the Promotion of Exchange of Chinese Calligraphers and Painters, and secretary general of the Organizing Committee of the Series of Activities to Commemorate the 140th Anniversary of the Birth of Master Hongyi, presided over the opening ceremony.
The exhibition held at the Art Museum of Li Kejian Painting Institute exhibited 100 paintings (pieces) of Master Hongyi's Fa books and letters, inscriptions, and inscription poems preserved by Mr. Huang Fuhai, 40 works of Mr. Huang Fuhai, and also exhibited the early handwritten book "Explanation of Words" of Master Hongyi (Li Shutong) preserved by Mr. Song Kun, a famous bibliophile, historian and friend of Master Hongyi during the Republic of China period, as well as the album of "Painting Studies", the book of "Xi Guowen", the book of "Linxi Stele" and the "Examination Textbook" book annotated by his teacher Zhao Yuanli. It can be said that it makes up for the shortcomings and gaps in the early calligraphy works and research empirical evidence of Master Hongyi. In particular, more than ten watercolor paintings, oil paintings and figure paintings of Master Hongyi, which mr. Song Kun has preserved, were also displayed to experts and audiences for the first time, which was rare in previous master Hongyi art exhibitions. Several experts who held affirmative opinions proposed that they intend to invite a number of professionals to further demonstrate this, which will provide valuable empirical evidence for the study of the surviving paintings of Master Koichi. This year, on the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the birth of Master Yinguang, the teacher of a generation of patriotic monks, the ancestors of the Pure Land Sect, and master Hongyi, a batch of precious handwritten inks of Master Yinguang, which mr. Song Kun had preserved, were exhibited at the same venue.
The exhibition also exhibits a handwritten preface written by Liu Binjie, director of the organizing committee of the series of activities commemorating the 140th anniversary of the birth of Master Hongyi, and nearly 100 works by editorial board consultants, art and academic consultants, old leaders, famous experts, scholars, calligraphers and painters. Most of the works are Hiroichi Master's mottos, French and praises to express their admiration and remembrance of Master Hongyi.
Master Ming Yi told this writer that in the history of China's cultural development in the past hundred years, Master Hongyi Li Shutong is a generalist and wizard recognized by the academic community, and as the pioneer of China's new cultural movement, he was the first to introduce Western oil painting, piano, drama, etc. into China. Master Hongyi has a strong patriotic feeling, he once entered Nanyang Public School, was a protégé of Cai Yuanpei, studied in dongdu, and finally returned to China to become a monk, escaped into Buddhism, and while concentrating on studying Buddhism, he cared about the security of the country, and when the country was in danger, he stepped forward to save the survival. Master Hongyi was also a master of Chinese Buddhist legalism in recent times, and is revered as the eleventh generation of the indigenous Vinaya. He has been a monk for more than 20 years, firmly believes in the Pure Land, revitalizes the Vinaya, and has made indelible contributions to the propagation of the Dharma. Throughout his life, the Master studied the precepts and adhered to the strict disciplines, and Dong Li schooled countless collections. He advocated the practice of law at home, promoted the true meaning of the law, and actively cultivated legal scholars, maintaining the orthodox inheritance of Chinese Buddhist precepts, which had a far-reaching impact. This article will introduce the Buddhist study of Master Hongyi and briefly describe the origin of his renunciation. Taking Master Hongyi's monograph on expounding Buddhism as the starting point, combined with various research documents, we will slightly determine the essence of his legal thoughts, so as to comprehensively and correctly display Master Hongyi's Buddhist practice, thoughts, and contributions. As a descendant of inheriting Chinese Buddhism, he took the example of his predecessor and actively created a new situation and new fashion in Chinese Buddhism.
