Masada Fortress, known as the last fortress of the Jews in Israel, has a history of more than 2,000 years, it is a rocky mountain on the shore of the Dead Sea, with a flat diamond-shaped rock top, surrounded by cliffs up to 100 meters high, and the entrance and exit are precipitous, easy to defend and difficult to attack. There used to be palaces, storage rooms, cisterns, weapons depots, etc., all of which were enough for the inhabitants of the fortress to survive for many years.

On April 15, 73 AD, it became the last fortress of the Jews against the Romans, and after several months of siege, the Romans captured the fortress with an earthen tower as high as the fortress, and all 960 people in the fortress committed suicide except for 2 women and 5 children.

The area remained uninhabited for nearly 13 centuries until 1828, when scholars rediscovered Masada. #妙笔生花创作挑战#
