According to publicly available information, China Graphite is mainly engaged in the production and sales of flake graphite concentrate and spherical graphite, and currently relies on the supply of raw graphite mined from the Beishan mine and purchased from third-party suppliers. Flake graphite concentrate is used in heat-resistant materials and spherical graphite and is used as an anode material for electronic devices and lithium-ion batteries for new energy vehicles.
In terms of specific news, the Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs issued the "Announcement on Optimizing and Adjusting Temporary Export Control Measures for Graphite Items". According to the relevant provisions, in order to safeguard national security and interests, with the approval of the State Council, it was decided to optimize and adjust the scope of items listed in the Announcement No. 50 of 2006 of the Ministry of Commerce, the State Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the General Administration of Customs ("Decision to Implement Temporary Export Control Measures for Graphite-related Products"), and to implement export control on some items.

The announcement states that items that meet the following characteristics may not be exported without permission:
(1) High purity (purity > 99.9%), high strength (flexural strength > 30Mpa), high density (density > 1.73 g/cubic centimeter) artificial graphite materials and their products (refer to customs commodity numbers: 3801100030, 3801909010, 6815190020).
Where is graphite used?
In addition to the above-mentioned use in new energy vehicles, graphite is mainly used in coatings, powder metallurgy, steelmaking, refractories, lubricants and other fields because of its high temperature resistance, high thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity, thermal shock resistance, flame retardancy, high compressive strength, high corrosion resistance, low friction and self-lubrication.
China's graphite revenue in the first half of the year fell by nearly 50% year-on-year
Despite the impact of China's graphite export control measures, the company's share price rose sharply today. However, the company's performance in the first half of the year was weaker. According to the interim performance report, its revenue in the first half of the year was 47.2 million yuan (RMB), down 49.6% year-on-year. Among them, the revenue from sales of spherical graphite and by-products was 34.9 million yuan (RMB), a year-on-year decrease of 43.1%; Revenue from sales of flake graphite concentrate was 11.9 million yuan (RMB), down 61.2% year-on-year.
For this decline in performance, China Graphite explained that the main reason is the overall sluggish downstream demand for natural graphite. However, the company pointed out that with the development of the electric vehicle industry in the second quarter, downstream demand gradually picked up, and the graphite industry entered the annual production season, and the performance is expected to continue to improve.
