"Hear Her Say" is the first female monologue drama in China produced by Tencent Video, with Zhao Wei as the initiator and producer. The project focuses on the survival pain points of contemporary women, involving issues such as the original family, son preference, appearance anxiety, older singles, full-time housewives, domestic violence, midlife crisis, and objectification of women.
At the scene of the "Hear Her Say" art salon, Several Entertainment chatted with the directors of the fourth issue of "Remodeling", Yin Lichuan and Shen Qilan about the women's issues in "Remodeling".

The fourth issue of "Hear Her Say" is about a middle-aged woman who is a stay-at-home mother who is divorced.
She graduated from college, had a good tutor, a good education, a good job, married a man who was "sincere" when she proposed, gave birth to a son and a daughter, resigned at the request of her husband to become a full-time wife, and then was asked for divorce by her husband when she reached middle age.
From a young age, her mother taught her to be docile and sensible, girls should not be so wild, and should not do what girls should not do.
Her mother was such a sensible woman, in the face of her husband's fists and all the wrongdoings, she still understood things, and taught this understanding to her daughter.
In the middle of her life, she looked out the window and asked her mother, "But Mother, you are so sensible, why do you still cry in the bathroom at night?" ”
Divorced in the middle of her year, she has a son and a daughter, and like her mother, she hid in the bathroom and opened the rain spray to cry.
The story, jointly completed by director Yin Lichuan, screenwriter Shen Qilan and actor Yongmei, wants to interpret the story of a woman who has accepted the society's discipline of women to be "sensible and reasonable", but still finds herself in a painful predicament.
In the film, Yongmei has completed the reinvention of herself, and she no longer obeys and obeys her words. She began to work out, boxing, running, fighting lawsuits, resisting, and finding herself.

"Before I became a mother myself, I never realized that my mother was actually a woman, and she used to be like a mother to me all the time, not a woman." 」 Yin Lichuan said.
What Yin expresses in the poem is the alienation, absurdity and strangeness felt by a daughter whose self-consciousness is still alive watching a mother whose self-consciousness is swallowed up by her motherhood; a woman who longs to awaken and rebels with doubts about established rules, and another woman who spends her life interpreting the established rules of the world, and the hopeless interrogation and crying of another woman who has spent her life interpreting the established rules of the world.
These images and thoughts, in "Remodeling", are transformed into Yongmei looking out the window and slowly asking, "Mom, you are so sensible, why do you still cry in the bathroom at night." ”
Yong Mei's lengthy monologue at the end: "There was once a woman, carrying a bulky box, running desperately and desperately, and finally jumped on the train at the last moment, she lay down, wanted to rest, she fell asleep, and one night, the train arrived at the station, she woke up and stepped off the train. "The meaning of the train is the direction, the distance, the unknown, and there is also a sense of life in it." This woman woke up, and I don't know where she went, and neither does this woman, she knows that she must go out and look at her life from another trajectory. Yin Lichuan explained.
A while ago, Principal Zhang Guimei, who opened a girls' school for female students in the countryside, refused donations from former students who became full-time wives, which triggered a temporary upsurge in public opinion. Yin Lichuan agreed with Principal Zhang Guimei's view of stay-at-home mothers (wives). "Stay-at-home moms can be and should be a job. But there is no tradition in society that respects this until now. ”
"A lot of women. At least for a while, after having the identity of mother, the identity as a human being was drowned out. And this time is a very important event for every woman. Because your (childless) female friends and male friends of the same age are moving forward. Yin Lichuan, the mother of a daughter who is now in the third grade of elementary school, said.
"Raising children now takes a lot of effort. Because everyone is very anxious, the education of children is not as equal to the educational resources of our parents' generation. Now there are more demands on a mom. Even if you're a working woman, you'll be a stay-at-home mom because the role of mom hangs over you. ”
"This phenomenon exists, not to blame men, I think it is caused by social synergy." Yin Lichuan said.
"In some of the jobs [that require creative brainpower], it's hard to stay where you were when your mind is occupied."
Yin Lichuan herself has experienced such a state, the twin daughters are still young (kindergarten) for a few years, Yin is very dazed. As a mother, she has to make decisions about what kind of kindergarten to go to, what kind of food to eat, where to play, and learn to swim. "I'm tired." Shen Qilan believes that the reason why "Hear Her Say" has received such a good response is that in fact, the audience has appeals to complex and more profound issues in their hearts. "Previously, there were also creators who paid some serious attention to women's issues and expressed them in literature and art." Shen Qilan said, "Yao Chen's "Send Me to Qingyun" is particularly good, and Ma Yili's "Find You" is also about the plight of women. ”
"What can be done first (as a creator), such as "Kim Ji-young born in 82", is a very calm textual narrative, but it can make such a big wave in South Korea. "Hear Her Say" can be paid attention to by so many people, it may be that the emotions in everyone's heart actually need to be heard. ”
Shen Qilan understands "remodeling" to reshape cognition, reshape life and cognition of life, reshape self and self-cognition.
"People first change their perceptions, and then they can grow again." Shen Qilan said, "Just like the heroine played by Yongmei in "Remodeling", everyone will be trapped in a shackle before the awakening of self-awareness, without fully knowing what kind of person they are, and then growing through various things. ”
The story prototype of "Remodeling" is based on the personal experience of Shen Qilan's friends. "I just think she's amazing, it's a feeling of reinventing myself, being reborn." It's a feminine power, a very positive, powerful growth-rich thing. ”

Shen Qilan mentioned the metaphor of Haruki Murakami in the lesson of Teacher Liu Yu, who was listening, in which Liu Yu believed that people with different views and different positions were related to one group of eggs and another group of eggs. Shen Qilan believes that the same is true of the relationship between men and women, and between people with different views.
"Dualistic oppositionists will feel that non-binary opposites are too idealistic and lack effectiveness. And this is only because dualistic antitheses believe that destroying the enemy is effective, which is their internal logic. But first of all, I don't approve of the enemy being molded. Shen Qilan said.
When Shen Qilan was in college, he took the "Women's Literature Studies" course of Fudan Zhang Yanbing. In the classroom, the terminology used in teaching is feminism, not feminism.
"Feminism pursues the equality of everyone, the all-round development of everyone. Feminism is about telling everyone that we can actually have a bigger picture –a future that is non-binary, harmonious, and mutually understanding. Shen Qilan told The Number Entertainment.
European and American women are now experiencing postmodern women's problems, and for Chinese women, they are facing: pre-modern, modern, post-modern problems, they are attacking at the same time. So there will be different ways to deal with it.
"A contemporary well-educated young woman in China, when she meets a very traditional woman, the difference in values between them will be very large, and they all feel that they are good for each other. Just like the mother-daughter relationship in "Reshaping", the mother wants her child to go the same way. "Marrying" a life, she will not understand why her children should take the path she has chosen herself, a path that she seems dangerous. ”
"You can't say that this mother doesn't want her rights, but it's because they don't have the knowledge." Shen Qilan said that she believes that the next generation, who receive more resources and better education, has the responsibility and obligation to understand the previous generation, rather than to criticize.
"I have a long reflection on duality and will understand that duality has limitations, and how to transcend binary opposition may not have appeared yet, but we still have to go in that direction." 」 Shen Qilan told Shu Yu.
