On October 14, 2021 (the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, Chongyang Festival), the "Celebration Conference for the 15th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Zhang Boling Research Association" was successfully held in the Tianyi British Pavilion in the courtyard of the Tianjin Cadre Club.
The choice of the Zhang Boling Research Association to celebrate the 15th anniversary of its establishment on the Chongyang Festival is of special significance. In 1904, Tianjin Nankai Middle School was established, and Tianjin Nankai Middle School was the first school established by Mr. Yan Xiu and Mr. Zhang Boling. October 17 of each year is the school day of Nankai School. October 17, 1904 coincided with Chongyang Festival.
The Chongyang Festival evolved from the ancient activities of worshipping the Heavenly Emperor and ancestors during the autumn harvest of crops in September, in order to thank the Heavenly Emperor and ancestors for their kindness. Later, it evolved into a tradition of ascending to the horizon and praying for blessings and birthdays. We follow the sages who make us look up to the mountains, and strive to climb to their heights, which is to ascend; we continue the growth of Nankai for a hundred years and carry forward the immortal spirit of Nankai, which is a blessing. The south also has the custom of "sunning autumn" in Chongyang, and at this moment, in addition to remembering the ancestors, it is also appropriate to display cyclical results.

Chairman Li Zhantong made a summary report on the work of the past fifteen years, reviewed the development process and work results in the past fifteen years from preparation to establishment, and looked forward to the future development direction and tasks.
In 2006, in order to deeply study the spirit of the Chinese intellectuals represented by Zhang Boling, radiate the influence of patriotic educators in China's modern history, build a communication platform and window to promote the development of contemporary private education in China, and contribute to the cause of Education Reform in China, the Zhang Boling Research Association was formally established.
In the past fifteen years, the Research Association has excavated and sorted out a large number of historical materials about Zhang Boling, published more than 20 kinds of related books, and organized more than 50 forums and seminars. With the support of many forces, he founded the journal "Zhang Boling Research", which has published 22 issues so far, publishing more than 400 related research articles and about 2 million words. At the same time, the research association also supported the establishment of Zhang Boling's main body of educational ideology inheritance and practice, Nankai Public Energy Education, and since 2018, it has established private Nankai schools in Shandong, Hebei, Sichuan, Yunnan and other places.
The work carried out by the institute has been reported by major media. The work of the Zhang Boling Research Association has played a positive role in promoting the operation of the Nankai series of schools and the new Nankai schools, and in the development of private education in China, and has been highly praised.

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Zhang Yuanlong, advisor of the Zhang Boling Research Association, thanked the leaders at all levels, the social elites, the vast number of Nankai alumni, members, volunteers, and the staff and volunteers in front of and behind the scenes of the celebration conference, and pointed out: "Excavating, refining, disseminating and practicing" Zhang Boling's concept of public energy is the purpose of the research association and the unshirkable responsibility of our generation.
In the next fifteen years, Zhang Boling Research Will continue to strengthen its own construction, expand the private academic research team, deeply study Zhang Boling's "public energy" concept, and constantly expand new research angles; innovate communication strategies, expand social influence; further close cooperation with Nankai series of schools and Nankai Alumni Association, and promote the convergence and dialogue of Chinese and Western cultures, give play to the role of a think tank for the development of folk education with Chinese characteristics, and study Zhang Boling. The practice of private education has pushed to a new height and contributed to the development of education in contemporary China.
