International Online Report (Reporter Cui Yimeng): Huang Xiaojuan, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, is the vice president of Guangxi University for Nationalities. Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Guangxi University for Nationalities has vigorously implemented counterpart poverty alleviation work and carried out care and care activities for poor students and left-behind children. In an exclusive interview with reporters, she said that the school's poverty alleviation work has achieved remarkable results, not only won the praise of all sectors of society, but also received praise from international students in school, and some international students also actively participated in related public welfare activities, hoping to learn more and exchange, and bring their experience back to their hometown in the future.

In the winter of 2016, huang Xiaojuan came to Donglan County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, for the first time in accordance with the unified arrangement of the school, and she was responsible for helping two villagers below the poverty line. The villagers all live on The Big Rock Mountain, because the mountain is high and the road is far away, the road up the mountain has not yet been repaired to the doorstep, and it is necessary to take a long detour to reach the villagers' homes. Villagers' homes are also very inconvenient due to the lack of domestic water. Huang Xiaojuan communicated with the local village committee to help two poor families move to a safe house under the mountain according to the wishes of the villagers. The transportation under the mountain is convenient, the family is also connected to running water, and the living conditions of the villagers have been greatly improved.

Huang Xiaojuan introduced that in addition to the "pairing" method, Guangxi University for Nationalities and other colleges and universities have also selected outstanding teaching staff to be stationed in the corresponding poverty alleviation villages as first secretaries and village-based task force members. They take root at the grassroots level, "look and hear" about the poor villages where they are located, and look for breakthroughs in poverty alleviation. According to local conditions, poor households were trained in technologies such as planting mulberry silkworms, planting fruit trees, and breeding black chickens, and teaching villagers to open up sales channels through means such as live streaming and bringing goods.

With the concerted efforts of all parties, in May last year, Donglan County officially withdrew from the list of poor counties. How to promote the effective connection between local poverty alleviation and rural revitalization has become a new challenge. Huang Xiaojuan said that the school will guide the team members stationed in the village to formulate a rural revitalization work plan, tap the potential of poor households themselves, combine education poverty alleviation and consumption poverty alleviation, help local people to increase income steadily, and consolidate the results of poverty alleviation.

As a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in the education sector and a higher education worker rooted in the western region, Huang Xiaojuan has focused on the shortcomings of education in border areas in her performance of her duties this year. During her research and visits, she found that there are some outstanding problems in education in border areas, such as insufficient modernization of educational information and shortage of structural proportions of teachers.

Poverty alleviation should first help the intellect, so that children in poor areas can receive a good education, which is an important task of poverty alleviation and development, and it is also an important way to block the intergenerational transmission of poverty.

During this year's CPPCC session, she and other members of the CPPCC National Committee submitted a joint proposal to the conference entitled "Proposal on Elevating the High-quality Development of Education in Border Areas to a National Strategy," proposing to elevate the high-quality development of education in border areas to a national strategy, coordinate forces to make up for the shortcomings of insufficient teaching equipment and facilities, implement the information construction project of border schools, and implement the plan for supporting education in border areas.

Huang Xiaojuan's Guangxi University for Nationalities has been recruiting international students from Southeast Asian countries since the 1980s. In her daily work, Huang Xiaojuan often communicates with them. These foreign teachers and international students from Southeast Asian countries learned about China's poverty alleviation work through television, online reports, Chinese culture, China overview and other courses, and heard many touching stories about poverty alleviation. They praised China's achievements in poverty alleviation, believing that China's poverty alleviation is conducive to strengthening rural construction, alleviating the problem of dense urban population, and promoting national development.

The international students also felt the unremitting efforts made by the Chinese government for the development of the country and the spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance Chinese the people. Some international students have studied in Guangxi for many years and have great feelings, they have taken active actions, participated in field surveys and other activities organized by the school, visited some areas in Guangxi, and donated clothes, books and other items to relatively poor areas through communities and schools.

Huang Xiaojuan said that over the years, many international students have personally felt the obvious improvement in transportation and economic development in many rural areas in Guangxi. Some students from ASEAN countries close to Guangxi's climate and natural conditions believe that China's poverty alleviation has great reference significance for its own national development and is worth learning from. The international students told her that they would introduce the experience and stories of China's poverty alleviation to their families and friends, and also hoped that the school would organize more off-campus visits in the future, visit remote areas and mountain villages in Guangxi, exchange and learn with local people and school children, and return to China in the future to contribute to the development of the country.
