More than ten years ago, Daxingzhuang Town began to develop edible chrysanthemum industry, and there are currently 72 greenhouses, planting more than 10 varieties, each shed yielding about 2,000 jin, and has become a germplasm resource bank for edible chrysanthemums in the country. The cultivated edible chrysanthemums have large yields and high benefits, which have significantly increased the income of chrysanthemum farmers and have been introduced for planting by many provinces, municipalities and districts.

Since ancient times, the mainland has had an elegant tradition of "eating with flowers", and there is also a sentence in "Leaving the Trouble" that "the sunset meal is autumn chrysanthemum". In Daxingzhuang Town, chrysanthemums are eaten in a variety of ways, such as fresh food, tea, stewing, steaming, boiling, stir-frying, mixing and frying, and can also be cleaned in hot pot or shredded into filling to make "chrysanthemum dumplings" and "chrysanthemum dim sum". In addition to appreciating chrysanthemums and picking chrysanthemums, visitors can also taste chrysanthemum tea, eat chrysanthemum snacks, enjoy Hanfu performances, and watch the art of flower arrangement.

In recent years, coming to Daxingzhuang Town to experience the special edible chrysanthemum folk tour has become a good choice for Beijing citizens in autumn and winter. Pinggu District reminds the public that chrysanthemums must wear masks and do a good job of personal protection to ensure that they have not visited high-risk areas within seven days, and cooperate with prevention and control measures such as scanning codes, temperature measurement, and checking negative nucleic acid certificates.
