📍 Play with Al Ahsa, Al Ahsa, Eastern Province, |, Saudi Arabia

Hasa, about 3.5 hours by car and 2.5 hours by train from Riyadh. It is home to al Ahsa Oasis, a Hassan oasis on unesco's World Heritage List, and the world's largest palm oasis.

Saudi Arabia's eastern province stretches from the Shoals of the Arabian Gulf in the north, through the palm-rich Al Ahsa Oasis, to the daunting Rub'Al Khali Desert in the south. Historically, the Eastern Province was located at the crossroads of the three great civilizations of the Levant, Mesopotamia and India, thus becoming a thriving trading hub. Today, the region relies heavily on Saudi Aramco's oil and gas operations for economic activity, but for centuries merchants used this inland trade route to send frankincense, incense, and other commodities from ancient Yemen to the empires.

The earliest place of human settlement in the Eastern Province was Al Ahsa. Hasa's name is also apt, because in classical Arabic, "Hasa" means "the sound of water flowing underground.". It is the world's largest palm oasis and the first oasis in the Gulf region to be inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Here the springs are clear, the date palm trees are verdant, and the historical sites are properly preserved, so you can experience the profound culture and traditions of the kingdom.

The heart of Al Ahsa is Hofuf, which is also the heart of Al Ahsa Oasis. There are also popular attractions in the area, such as Al Qarah, Souq Al Qaisariy, and Yellow Lake. Hassa is ideally located close to other cities in the Eastern Province. Especially in the cooler months, it is a great place to visit.
