author:GeorgeChou

Sumatran orangutan, sumatran orangutan, lives on the island of Sumatra. Feeds on figs, leaves, flowers, bark and insects, up to a maximum of about 90 kg. Adult Sumatran orangutans are mostly solitary animals, not the female orangutans with babies, who live with their mothers for 9 to 10 years, learning life skills with their mothers and playing the rest of the time. Sumatran orangutans move between trees in an arm-like manner, preferring life in trees to Borneo orangutans, probably due to the presence of large predators such as Sumatran tigers on land.
