Sumatran orangutan, sumatran orangutan, lives on the island of Sumatra. Feeds on figs, leaves, flowers, bark and insects, up to a maximum of about 90 kg. Sumatran orangutans move between trees in an arm-like manner, preferring life in trees to Borneo orangutans, probably due to the presence of large predators such as Sumatran tigers on land.
