Water hyacinth (also known as water flounder) is known as the "purple devil", always occurs in pieces, a large number of water hyacinth cover the water surface, not only will block the river, hinder drainage and irrigation, but also limit the flow of water, the water body has no sunlight, so that the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water body is reduced, inhibiting the growth of plankton, and even a large number of fish will die, affecting the development of water biodiversity, destroying the ecological environment of the river, will also reduce the PH value of the water, the concentration of the smell value of the water increases, so that the use value of water resources is greatly reduced, to agriculture, aquaculture Tourism, etc. bring great harm, bringing threats to people's health and ecological security.

Previously, the methods of controlling water hyacinth mainly included manual removal method, mechanical churning method, chemical control method, biological control method and so on. Over the years, the prevention and control of water hyacinth has shortcomings such as high cost, low efficiency and large environmental impact, which have brought great difficulties to the work. To this end, since 2017, the Provincial Ecological Station has taken the initiative to organize technical forces to carry out technical research on the scientific and effective prevention and control of water hyacinth. After consulting a large number of relevant materials, through the analysis and selection of experimental materials, the development of field prevention and control screening tests, optimization tests and other research processes, a large number of theoretical exploration and technical research have been carried out, and finally completed technical research. The method of controlling water hyacinth by UAV spraying paraffin oil solvent was determined, and environmental assessment work was carried out for this technology, and the results showed that the above control technology would not cause secondary pollution to the water body.
