At 11:30 a.m. on May 30, a mass vomiting and fainting incident occurred at the Sen Loong Temple in Battambang Province, Cambodia, resulting in more than 50 people being sent to the hospital for emergency treatment.
The county magistrate of Kekas County in the province pointed out that at that time, a Buddhist dinner was held at the Senlong Temple, which was attended by nearly 50 devotees. The dinner event is mainly based on eating local rice noodles, accompanied by lettuce, cucumbers, bean sprouts and so on. Unexpectedly, after they ate, the monks and men, women and children of the temple vomited, were weak, and then fainted on the ground. Immediately after the incident, people nearby informed the authorities.
Local law enforcement officers immediately sent the above patients to the hospital for emergency treatment. According to preliminary conclusions, the collective fainting incident may have been caused by food poisoning. Among them were 5 monks, as well as 47 devotees.
