On April 25, 2024, the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia convened relevant departments to hold a preparatory meeting for the 21st ASEAN Expo to study the relevant matters related to Cambodia's participation in the exhibition. The meeting was chaired by Lim Lork Piseth, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia. Seang Thay, State Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Nam Lynal, Seun Sotha, Deputy Secretary of State, Kao Kosal, Director General of the General Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Nop Sophorndara, Deputy Secretary-General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia and other relevant ministries and leaders attended the meeting.
Lin Zongying said that the Cambodian government attaches great importance to strengthening the level of economic and trade cooperation with China through the Expo. This year is the first year of the new stage of the "diamond-encrusted crown" of the Expo. The Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia will work together with the Secretariat of the Expo to organize Cambodian enterprises to participate in the exhibition with high specifications and high standards, so as to achieve the scale of the exhibition and the economic and trade results to increase year by year.
Nushu Podala said that the Council for the Development of Cambodia will continue to deeply participate in the series of investment promotion activities of the Expo, promote Cambodia's investment environment, and attract more Chinese enterprises to invest in Cambodia.
Liang Yiguang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Secretariat of the Expo, was invited to attend. He introduced the fruitful results of Cambodia's participation in the Expo and the new highlights and new measures of the 21st Expo, and had full exchanges with various departments on Cambodian leaders' invitations, exhibitions, trade negotiations, conference activities, etc.
All departments unanimously agreed to raise Cambodia's participation in the exhibition to a new height at a new starting point, and help promote the construction of a high-quality, high-level and high-standard China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era. Heads of relevant departments and bureaus such as the Ministry of Commerce and the Development Council of Cambodia attended the meeting.
