On the morning of April 21, as two Chinese civil aviation chartered planes landed at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport in Hubei Province, 135 Chinese suspects involved in gambling and fraud were escorted back to China from Cambodia by our public security organs. Up to now, more than 680 Chinese suspects involved in gambling and fraud arrested by the Cambodian police have all been escorted back to China by our public security organs.
In recent years, in response to prominent illegal crimes such as cross-border gambling and telecommunications network fraud, which have been strongly resented by the public, the public security organs have resolutely implemented the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee, persisted in opening the way, continued to deepen international law enforcement cooperation, destroyed a large number of cross-border criminal gangs, and arrested a large number of lawbreakers. Since the beginning of this year, China's public security organs have escorted tens of thousands of suspects involved in gambling and fraud back to China from Myanmar, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates, and other countries, and have achieved outstanding results. In particular, the Chinese and Cambodian police recently organized a joint operation to crack down on illegal and criminal activities related to gambling and fraud, arrested a number of criminal suspects, and since 12 April, the Hubei public security organs have organized a number of chartered flights to escort the relevant personnel back to China in batches, dealing a heavy blow to the arrogance of criminal groups involved in China abroad. At present, the Ministry of Public Security has deployed the Hubei public security organs to go all out to investigate and handle the case.
The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Public Security said that cross-border gambling and telecommunications network fraud crimes seriously endanger the legitimate rights and interests of the people and seriously affect the healthy development of the economy and society. The public security organs will always maintain a high-pressure and hard-hitting posture against such illegal crimes, and earnestly safeguard the safety of the people's lives and property.
