IT Home may 9 news, at the beginning of this year, from Poland developer Michal Gapiński successfully brought Apple CarPlay function to Tesla's central control big screen, which can run smoothly. This solution does not require the dismantling and modification of Tesla cars, and can be achieved by using the Raspberry Pi and WiFi network equipped with Android.
After months of optimization, Gapiński released the first publicly available alpha version of "Tesla Android" on Github for everyone to download and try.
IT House understands that a publicly available solution requires two Raspberry Pis (which will be reduced to one in the future), a micro-HDMI-to-HDMI cable, and an Ethernet cable. Gapiński has published detailed operation guidelines on its website, which can be viewed by qualified partners.
This function is implemented by running a Raspberry Pi that runs a customized version of Android, and the AutoKit application is installed on it, which can be transmitted to the car machine through the network, and the user can use the touch screen to freely control it.
Apple's CarPlay feature can project the screen and applications of iPhone phones to the car's center control screen display, and can use applications such as Apple Music and Apple Maps, as well as third-party applications such as AutoNavi Maps. An interface designed for CarPlay will appear on the central control screen, allowing users to smoothly control the phone on the central control.
