"Avenue to Jane - Li Jintai Chujian Calligraphy Art National Tour Exhibition" was successfully held in Jingzhou last May, which caused quite a stir in the Jingzhou calligraphy circle and Chujian calligraphy enthusiasts. During this year's Spring Festival, Mr. Li Jintai, president of the China Chujian Calligraphy Research Institute and a well-known "Chujian calligrapher" from Jingzhou, returned to his homeland and accepted an exclusive interview with this reporter. Speaking of the intoxicated Chujian calligraphy, Li Jintai told reporters about the past events associated with this emerging art of calligraphy. He said deeply that what an artist should think about is what you have contributed to art and what you have left behind for history.

The 71-year-old Li Jintai is a pioneer and leader in the Chujian book world. In the ten years or so of becoming acquainted with Chujian calligraphy, Li Jintai's most proud work is the 100-meter-long volume "Chujian Shu Daodejing", which lasted six years and changed its manuscripts eight times, and even the creation of the eighth draft took 8 months, and the bitterness is self-evident.

The time and energy consumed is only one of the many difficulties encountered by Li Jintai's creative process. Because the art of Chujian calligraphy originated from copying the writing on The Chujian relics unearthed in various places, the first problem that Li Jintai needed to solve was to find a "substitute" for the missing words. In order to make every word have a source, Li Jintai also did a lot of text research work. On the desk in his study, there are often "Chu Script Compilation", "Jin Wen Compilation", "Explanation of Words", and "Oracle Bone Practical Dictionary" for reference. In order to solve the "temporary lack of words" that are not seen in the Chu character compilation, Li Jintai can be said to have taken pains, and his purpose is that "the words must have a source" and never create a word. After six years and eight drafts, the Chu Jian Shu DaoDe Jing came out of nowhere.

After studying Chujian calligraphy for many years, Li Jintai also formed his own unique theory of calligraphy art. He believes that brush writing has created the strokes of Chinese characters, Li Jintai introduced that the ancestors in the long-term writing practice, according to the characteristics of the brush swing stop station gradually accumulated some experience in the use of pens and writing, the original Jiajin character in the single uniform line has been transformed into a variety of different forms of point, horizontal, skimming, vertical, pinch, and stroke is the real maturity of chinese characters.

Li Jintai believes that the Chu Jian Shu script is the real "Chu You Li Shu". Qin Li and Chu Jian Shuai had the same destination, and the latter had a more significant level of subordination because of its large time span, which was the result of comprehensive consideration of factors such as a huge amount of Chu Jian Shuai data. Based on the study of Chu Jian Shuai, Li Jintai also proposed the "Chu Jian" theory, that is, Chinese calligraphy was produced with the first conscious use of brushes by the Chu people, with the formation of Chu Jian strokes and the perfection of the aesthetic consciousness of the Chu people, the Chu people created the history of Chinese calligraphy, and Chu Jian is the earliest art form of Chinese calligraphy.

Obsessed with Chujian calligraphy, Li Jintai's artistic creation has reached a considerable height. But he lamented that although there were many young people interested in this new art, few were proficient. At present, more and more scholar-type calligraphers have entered the field, and the exploration of Chujian calligraphy has shown a diversified pattern, and its cultural and artistic quality is constantly improving. This calligraphy not only needs to be explored by scholar-type calligraphers, but also needs to be inherited and carried forward by young people. Li Jintai said that with the improvement of the artistry of Chujian calligraphy, the overall quality and aesthetic ability of the audience have improved, so that the people can accept, love or just around the corner.
