Many people don't understand, this actually has a lot of deep meaning in it, and in the whole Journey to the West, she and Tang Monk are also counted as having the deepest bond.

Over time, the relationship between the little mouse and the golden cicada became closer and closer, and she also secretly developed feelings for him. In order to be closer to the golden cicada, she stole the fragrant flower treasure candle of the Buddha of Rulai and cultivated into a human form to meet the golden cicada.
Later, the golden cicada was dozed off because of the chanting, and was punished to reincarnate as a Tang monk, and the little mouse always remembered him, so he waited for him for hundreds of years on the Western Heavenly Road.
And this also became a "love robbery" on the way for Tang Monk to take the scriptures, at that time, Tang Monk insisted on saving the rat essence, and he was so special to her, and the rat essence was also obedient to him and did not hurt him in the slightest, precisely because the two of them had a deep bond in their past lives. Only if the Tang monks survived this disaster, he could regain his enlightenment.
Tang monk and mouse spirit
Regarding the above, it is not a random guess, and there are such details in the original work. Tang monks and apprentices rescued a girl on the road and took her into the Zhenhai Zenlin Temple with them.

After the rat spirit returned to the bottomless pit of the hollow mountain, he forced Tang Monk to marry her in order to take his Yuanyang Qi. However, she treated Tang Monk with obedience, Tang Monk was vegetarian, so she arranged a melon and fruit vegetarian feast for him, Tang Monk was thirsty, and because the water in the rat hole was not clean, she let others go to the neighborhood to fetch some clean water and come back.
However, Tang Monk, who had always been very resistant to goblins, behaved abnormally this time, and even called her a lady several times in order to cooperate with the mouse spirit. Although it is said that the woman does not mean the wife, this title is also for the woman, and it can only be said by some people who are familiar with the relationship. Moreover, such behavior is not at all in line with the consistent style of Tang Monk.
Later, Sun Wukong burrowed into the stomach of the rat essence and forced her to let Tang Monk go, the rat essence was in pain, she hugged Tang Monk, cried and said to him, "The front edge of the dream is tied with red rope, and the fish and water phase and the two meanings are thick." Unexpectedly, the Mandarin Duck is now broken up, and the Luan Phoenix is west and east! The blue bridge is difficult to achieve, and the Buddhist temple will be empty. Thinking of a goodbye today, when will I meet you again? ”
In this poem, "the frontier of the dreaming world", "and" don't meet, "again" meet, all say that the Tang monks and the mouse spirit have an indissoluble relationship in the past life, and "the blue bridge is difficult to become a thing, and the Buddhist temple smoke and sink jia will be empty" two sentences, in fact, quote allusions, metaphors missed love.
In the Spring and Autumn Period, a Lu guoren named Ozai fell in love with a woman at first sight, but because Ozai's family was not well off, the woman's family did not agree to the marriage between the two of them. So they decided to elope and meet at a wooden bridge outside the city.
That day, after Ozai arrived at the wooden bridge, he did not see her coming, and waited for her on the bridge, however, it suddenly began to rain in the sky, and after a while, the rain became heavier and heavier, and soon flooded the wooden bridge. Owoo was convinced that the woman would come soon and was reluctant to leave, and eventually drowned holding the pillar on the wooden bridge.
And the girl, because she was dragged by her family, delayed the time, and when she rushed over, she found that it was too late, and she was sad, holding the body of the tail and jumping into the river.
Another sentence refers to the story of "Meeting at the Temple of The Buddha", there was a princess in the Shu Kingdom, who was raised by a grandmother surnamed Chen since childhood, when Lady Chen also had a son, in order to facilitate the care of him, Lady Chen took him into the palace with him and raised him with the princess. Later, the princess and her son spent many years together, and their relationship became better and better. Until he grew up, the sons of the Chen family could only leave the palace.
After the two separated, they missed each other very much, once, the princess took the opportunity to burn incense in the temple to date him, at that time, the Son of the Chen Family arrived first, waiting to wait and fall asleep, when the Princess came, she saw him asleep, did not wake him, left a jade ring and left, and when the Son of the Chen Family woke up, he was deeply sorry and very angry, so a fire burned the temple.
These two stories are used as a metaphor for missed opportunities and frustrated feelings, from which it can be seen that the mouse spirit and the Tang monk were indeed very close. According to the mouse spirit, the two of them once fell in love, but later for various reasons, the two could not be together.
