The "Master of Torque" is about to pull? Yamaha Tenere 900 renderings are out

Rumor has it that the new Yamaha Tenere 900 could come out, which could also be a less absurd hypothesis given the success of the Tenere 700 (it was the third best-selling motorcycle in Italy in March). After the Super Tenere 1200 was discontinued in 2020, Yamaha's flagship rally model was actually the Tenere 700. Therefore, Yamaha desperately needs a more displacement Tenere to compete with other brands! The Tenere 900, which will soon be equipped with the MT-09 three-cylinder engine, will be another new car after the Tracer 9, XSR900 and Niken.

There are also big guys abroad who have made renderings of the Tenere 900, and we can find a three-cylinder engine with an 889cc displacement that may provide a maximum power of about 119 horses and a peak torque of 93 Nm. But the front rim is no longer 21 inches but 19 inches to provide more comfortable pavement riding, plus the front and rear seats have more space to ride.

The renderings envision two versions, one "Standard" and one "Adventure", the difference being three boxes and a guard bar. The Tenere 900 won't compete for a larger displacement, but it will fit into a market segment, the 800-1,000cc ADV, which could be a smart move. However, as mentioned earlier, this is only a matter of assumptions, and Yamaha did not confirm the possible arrival of the Tenere 900, but its probability is still very high.
