Among them, 12 kinds of children's books such as "Lost Child", "The Journey of the Elephant", "Magpie's Nest" won the annual "Best Children's Book" award, and 12 kinds of children's books such as "The Stories I Tell Are Not True", "Ten Toes to Travel", "Big City, Little You" won the title of "Excellent Children's Book" of the year.

Li Xixi, executive director of the New Reading Research Institute and a children's literature writer, introduced in the "2021 "China Children's Book List" Selection Report" that the 2021 "China Children's Book List" was selected as a children's book from nearly a thousand kinds of children's books submitted by hundreds of publishing houses across the country, and was carefully selected after four rounds of "preliminary evaluation - re-evaluation - expert recommendation - final evaluation". Among the books participating in this year's children's book list, picture books account for 33%, popular science accounts for 24%, literary books account for 33%, and human books account for 10%; original children's books account for 77%; and imported children's books account for 23%.

Zhang Mingzhou, president of the International Children's Book Federation and executive vice president of the China Children's Literature Research Association, said: "Everyone has a particularly important book in their lives, waiting to meet him. The "China Children's Book List" was initiated by Zhu Yongxin, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, vice chairman of the Central Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, and spokesperson for the national reading image, with the participation of nearly 100 well-known scholars, writers, national famous teachers and reading promoters across the country.

Zhu Yongxin said that since the birth of the "China Children's Book List", it has been aimed at "selecting the most beautiful children's books for the most beautiful childhood". In the past ten years, the new education firefly parent-child reading public welfare project has set up more than 100 urban and rural sub-stations and held more than 10,000 related public welfare activities, which is committed to pushing parent-child co-reading to the vast countryside and to thousands of households.
