The exhibition exhibits more than 260 components of Wen Yiduo's sketch watercolor, binding design, calligraphy seal engraving, photo letters, and the paintings of his son Wen Lipeng, presenting the artistic talent and spiritual charm of Wen Yiduo's father and son to the audience, and evoking the memories and admiration of teachers and students for their predecessors.
In the exhibition, a painting by Wen Lipeng is the most eye-catching. In the picture, Wen Yiduo and the burning red candle next to him are juxtaposed, and the red candle in the background of the mountains and fields stains the earth red, reflecting the rock-solid figure of Wen Yiduo. Curator Xu Hong said that the exhibition puts this painting in the most eye-catching position, "just like smelling more than a monument standing on the land of the motherland, like a red candle burning to create light, patriotic sincerity is also inspiring future generations to pass on the torch." ”
Previously, the audience learned more about Wen Yiduo as a poet, scholar and democracy fighter, but his artistic talent was little known. "Although my father is more remembered as a poet, scholar, and devotee of the modern national liberation and democracy movement, he also left behind a large number of works of art, which have always wandered between literature and fine arts, and have closely linked the two." Wen Lipeng said that his father's spiritual character subtly affected him, and since the day he began to learn to paint, he looked forward to one day using his own brush to express the image of his father. Influenced by his father, Wen Lipeng engaged in oil painting creation and art theory research, and painted works such as "Daughter of the Earth", "Ode to red candles", "Wind" and so on.
Xu Hong said that holding this exhibition on the occasion of tsinghua university's 111st anniversary has special cultural and historical significance, hoping to arouse the memory and admiration of teachers, students and audiences for the previous generations of scholars.
