In order to welcome the 111th anniversary of Tsinghua University, the opening ceremony of the "Ode to red candles: Wen Yiduo and Wen Lipeng Art Works Exhibition" was held at the Tsinghua University Art Museum on April 22. Du Pengfei, executive deputy director of the Art Museum of Tsinghua University, Liu Shi, dean of the School of Humanities of Tsinghua University, Xu Hong, curator of the exhibition, Fan Di'an, chairman of the China Artists Association (Wang Xiaolin, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Academy of Fine Arts), and Wen Lipeng, professor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, delivered speeches successively. Wang Guangqian, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League and Vice President of Tsinghua University, delivered a speech and announced the opening of the exhibition. More than 100 people, including teachers and students, alumni, social audiences and media reporters of Tsinghua University, attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Peng Gang, Vice President of Tsinghua University. At the opening ceremony, Du Pengfei issued a donation certificate to Wen Lipeng.

In the past 6 years since its opening, we have successfully held a series of wonderful exhibitions with the main purpose of promoting the spirit of Tsinghua, which has become a special exhibition section of the museum. This exhibition will be Wen Yiduo, Wen Lipeng father and son of the two works juxtaposed exhibition, the audience to appreciate the artistic charm of the two artists, but also can feel the spiritual charm of their father and son passed on the torch, understand and remember their unremitting efforts and important contributions to promote China's social progress, to reshape the noble spirit of the Chinese nation. ”

Some scholars believe that Chinese scholarship is 'lifelike', and the artistic works of Wen's father and son displayed in this exhibition are precisely lifelike, which embodies the spirit of openness and perseverance of modern Chinese literati in inheriting and developing literature and art. The ancients said that 'a soldier must not be honored', which can be said to be the unremitting pursuit of the Wen father and son in the course of their lives. "Today, I am very excited to hold the 'Ode to red candles: Smelling Yiduo and Wen Lipeng's art works exhibition' at the Tsinghua University Art Museum. I myself have lived in Tsinghua Garden since I was a child, and after I arrived in Kunming, the five of us brothers and sisters have also studied in the Middle School and Primary School of the United Nations General Assembly. His father's art career began at Tsinghua University, and his illustrations for the 1922 Tsinghua Annals have shown a high level of painting, and today, exactly one hundred years later, we are witnessing these works in the new art museum in Tsinghua Garden, which has special significance. In the course of running the school in the past 111 years, Tsinghua people have shaped two traditions with practical actions: excellent cultural traditions and glorious revolutionary traditions. Mr. Wen Yiduo is one of the most prominent representatives of these two traditions. On the occasion of the school celebration, the Art Museum of Tsinghua University held an exhibition of Wen Yiduo and Wen Lipeng's art works under the theme of "Ode to the Red Candle", exhibiting more than 260 components of Mr. Wen Yiduo's sketch watercolor, binding design, calligraphy seal engraving, photo letters, and Mr. Wen Lipeng's paintings. This exhibition aims to show the world the artistic talents of Wen Yiduo and Wen Lipeng father and son, and also hopes that the audience will think about their aesthetic value, feel their spiritual charm while appreciating their works of art, understand and remember the unremitting efforts made by the generation of scholars represented by Mr. Wen Yiduo from a new perspective to promote China's social progress and reshape the noble spiritual values of the Chinese nation.
