Recently, the German iF Design Award was announced, and the Chinese brand model WM7 won the 2022 iF Design Award. This is the second time that the M7 has won the International Industrial Design Award after winning the Red Dot Product Design Award 2022. At the same time, WM M7 is also the world's first Chinese intelligent electric product to win both the 2022 iF Design Award and the Red Dot Product Design Award. Demonstrating the power of Chinese design to the global automotive industry.

Germany's "iF Design Award" and "Red Dot Award" are known as the "Oscars of the product design industry". In this year's selection, there are only 7 winning vehicles in the world, and the WM M7 is one of them. The M7 front cover features a contrasting design inspired by the scene where the water is ripped open, the through headlights extend all the way to the position where the fenders and A-pillars are connected, the side slip-back shape, hidden door handles, through taillights and duck tail transition smoothly.
At the top, RoboSense's latest generation of solid-state lidar M1, with its high degree of integration and small size, has won more space for the layout and styling of the whole vehicle. In order to optimize the contour effect, the WM design team iteratively designed the lidar modeling and other sensor designs on the roof, and minimized the impact of wind resistance on the basis of ensuring the best imaging effect, so that the lidar and the body were integrated and more coordinated.
WM creatively adopted the "zero button" cockpit design, eliminating the intrusive operation knobs, buttons, gear bars and other components, effectively simplifying the user's interaction with the car. The first touch shift design integrated into the steering wheel for a faster and safer operator experience. The i-Rota super dial in the car adopts an avant-garde minimalist design, and the simple operation of "press, pull, and rotate" can realize song switching, temperature regulation and many other functions. In addition, M7 also takes the lead in realizing out-of-car voice interaction, intelligent lamp language situational language, and based on centimeter-level high-precision positioning and rich interactive hardware.
In terms of intelligent driving, the M7 is equipped with a total of 32 sensors, including 3 autonomous zoom high-precision super-vision solid-state lidar and 7 8-megapixel high-definition cameras, which can build the surrounding environment in real time, and 4 NVIDIA Orin-X chips matched with strong perception, bringing 1016 TOPS absolutely redundant computing power, so that automatic driving can also properly cope with extreme scenarios.
Sun Zhen, General Manager of WM Automotive Design Center, said: "In the design process of M7, a lot of forward-looking thinking and cutting-edge technology for intelligent applications have been integrated, and we have been committed to breaking through the shackles of the environment through design to adapt to and lead the needs of users in the new era. At the same time, this car will also meet users with a new image at the upcoming Tech Day 2022 WM Automotive Technology Day.
