The data shows that the annual sales of electric tricycles are 9.5 million units, and the market ownership is 50 million to 60 million units, which is close to the degree of market saturation.
In the next few years, there will be about 8 million replacement demand for tricycles in China's express delivery market alone. If each vehicle that meets the requirements is priced at 30,000 yuan, this is a market of 240 billion yuan.
However, the market has not been fully launched at present.
Although there is no national policy, Beijing issued the "Notice on Strengthening the Management of Illegal Electric Three- and Four-Wheeled Vehicles" in 2021, setting a transition period for illegal electric three- and four-wheeled vehicles and not being allowed to go on the road from 2024 onwards, and explaining that illegal vehicles are vehicles that have not entered the announcement of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, of course, including express electric three-wheelers.
In fact, before the Wuling E10, there were already other players entering the game. In 2020, Beiqi Changhe released EV2, and later Foton released Foton DiGO on this basis, and in 2021, Shandong Haochi Automobile released Orange Shi 01, which is positioned as a courier car for terminal delivery.

However, from the sales data, the performance of these vehicles is very average. In 2020, BAIC EV2 sold 21 units, Foton Digo sold 12 units, and in 2021, both cars sold no sales, and Orange 01 sold 137 units in 2021.
The market seems to have changed a bit this year, with the BAIC EV2 selling 87 units this year, the Foton Digo selling 11 units, the Orange 01 selling 234 units, and most of the vehicles were sold in March.
Whether it is the previous 3 models of cars, or the Wuling E10 that entered the catalog this time, only by allowing more couriers to use their own vehicles, it is a successful product, even if it is not considered that driving these vehicles require a motor vehicle driver's license, for the courier company, before the regulations do not allow the use of electric three-wheelers, the price of the vehicle is the decisive factor that determines what vehicle they choose to send express.
The price of a courier electric tricycle is basically around 6,000 yuan, and almost all the express delivery cars on the streets and alleys are such vehicles. The price of the BAIC EV2 released in 2020 is 35,000-40,000 yuan, and the price of the Orange 01 released in 2021 is 57,000-72,000 yuan, which is not competitive with the three rounds of electricity.
Wuling E10 has not yet announced the price, but its core component battery motor suppliers and Hongguang miniEV is the same, the battery supplier is Penghui power supply, the motor supplier is Shuanglin Automobile, the motor power is 20kW, but the E10 battery system energy density is lower, only 106kW/kg, presumably can also suppress the cost and price to the extreme.
In June last year, Wuling Automobile announced that it had reached a strategic cooperation agreement with Zhejiang Bee Network Collection and Mining Information Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Bee Network Company") on the centralized procurement cooperation project to promote the popularization and application of new energy logistics vehicles in the express delivery industry. According to the agreement, Wuling Automobile will customize vehicles to meet the needs of express delivery, and strive to complete the sales of 10,000 vehicles on the platform of the collection center by December 31, 2022.
The bee network company is controlled by the local state-owned assets where the so-called Express Tonglu Gang is located, and there are companies in which SF, Yuantong, Zhongtong, Yunda and Shentong are invested, which basically includes mainstream express delivery companies.
If all goes well, after the vehicle enters the catalog, it can start to be delivered, and it is clear that the courier company has begun to replace the electric three-wheeled express delivery car that is on the edge of supervision with regular new energy vehicles.
