The reporter learned from Tesla China that as China's first wholly foreign-owned vehicle manufacturing project, Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory resumed work on April 19.
It is reported that there are already 8,000 employees in the factory, batteries, motor modules have begun to produce at full speed, and the whole vehicle is gradually resuming the production rhythm. The vehicle workshop of Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory Phase 2 rolls off the production line with 90 vehicles per hour, which is currently the most efficient automated production line.
According to Song Gang, senior director of production and manufacturing at Tesla Gigafactory, in the next three or four days, Tesla Gigafactory will gradually climb its production capacity to the overall single shift full production, "The proportion of suppliers in Shanghai is a little higher, and Jiangsu parts suppliers are also actively pulling logistics to support our smooth resumption of work and production." He said.
The reporter learned that the factory vehicle parts still have about a week of inventory, and is promoting more than 100 parts suppliers to resume work and production. At present, Tesla Gigafactory is actively doing a good job in epidemic prevention to ensure safe production.
