On the evening of March 22, Beijing time, the Berlin Tesla Gigafactory held an opening event, officially announcing the opening of another overseas Tesla Gigafactory, and Tesla CEO Musk personally delivered the first batch of "Made in Germany" Model Y models at the scene.
Like Tesla's traditional minimalist style, the opening event did not have a grand scene and a red carpet, and the atmosphere of the scene reached a climax as a German-made Tesla slowly drove out. The black Model Y with the "GIGA 001" number plate gives the factory a special meaning.

Given Tesla's efforts to get the Berlin Gigafactory to start operations, Musk's excitement today is understandable. Since announcing plans to build a factory in November 2019, Tesla has finally built and operated a car factory in 861 days. In March, Tesla's Berlin Gigafactory finally received mass production approval from the relevant German authorities and was allowed to mass-produce new cars. Although the Berlin plant will not be able to reach a capacity comparable to that of the Shanghai plant in the short term, the plant's final planned annual production capacity will exceed 500,000 units, and it will also ease the export burden of the Shanghai Gigafactory after large-scale deliveries.
Previously, the factory has completed the production of a small number of new Model Y cars, and the new Model Y made in Germany has not yet been equipped with Tesla's 4680 battery, but like the new Model Y made in China, it is equipped with the latest AMD chip and a new 16V small battery. At the same time, the German-made Model Y is also equipped with a retractable storage board for the trunk.

In terms of price, at present, the Model Y in Germany has only launched a four-wheel drive long-endurance and high-performance version, priced at 56,990 euros (about 399,900 yuan) and 63,990 euros (about 449,000 yuan), respectively, and the expected delivery time is May and April this year.
