Finally, Toyota will invest $16 million at its largest plant in Georgetown, Kentucky, to further expand engine production. The plant received an investment of $461 million in October 2021 and currently produces approximately 600,000 powertrains per year for Toyota and Lexus models.

Toyota also has some engines in the experimental stages, such as the Corolla racing hydrogen-powered three-cylinder internal combustion engine that has been testing, and the GR Yaris three-cylinder engine that uses synthetic fuel.
