"Asian Games Three Treasures" is a group of robots carrying profound heritage and full of vitality of the times, and the original combination was named "Jiangnan Yi". The three mascots are named "Chenchen", "Chun" and "Lotus", representing the World Heritage Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, the ruins of Liangzhu Ancient City and the West Lake Natural Ecological Circle.
Zhang Wen and his wife Yang Yihong are both teachers at the China Academy of Art, and the original design of "Jiangnan Yi" was completed by them, and the inspiration for the design came from their observations and memories of Hangzhou.
Zhang Wen said that the Liangzhu Museum, Canal Square, West Lake, these landmarks in Hangzhou are also the places where they most often take their children to play, which not only leaves memories of their lives, but also represents the development of Hangzhou.
Hangzhou Asian Games mascot designer China Academy of Art teacher Zhang Wen: In fact, in the process of design, we will take our daughter everywhere to appreciate every corner of Hangzhou, for example, we go to the West Lake to stroll around, to see and feel the poetic and hazy beauty of the lake and mountain, we take her to the ruins of Liangzhu Ancient City, to see the golden rice fields that are full of mountains, and take her to Gongchen Bridge, which is above our canal park. In the process, it also provides us with some new inspiration.
Zhang Wen said that when the first draft was submitted, three fish-shaped babies were presented, mainly emphasizing Hangzhou's water culture: the water of the West Lake, Liangzhu - a "beautiful oasis", and the canal. The design of the sports model of the mascot project took more than a year, and the entire creative process of the mascot, from the first draft to the final draft, underwent 6 major revisions and 20 small revisions, and finally gave birth to the "Jiangnan Memory" we see now.
The city of Hangzhou has a very strong historical accumulation, and more importantly, it also has the convenience of life brought by modern and technological artificial intelligence, so the mascot was finally determined to be three artificial intelligence robots.
