As a designer born in '85, I recently had the privilege of visiting Singapore, a city known for its high prices and strict regulations. I've always heard that prices in Singapore are high, and if you're not careful, you'll be fined or something, so I'm still a little guarded. But in fact, I found that I don't have to spend a lot of money on a holiday in Singapore, and I was able to enjoy a leisurely and enjoyable holiday.
First of all, the transportation in Singapore is really convenient. Although some say that taxis are expensive in Singapore, the city is small, many attractions can be reached on foot, and the MRT is easily accessible. When booking a hotel, I recommend that you consider choosing a hotel that is close to the attractions or business districts you want to visit on the day, so that you can easily walk around the city and enjoy the beautiful architecture while saving a lot of transportation costs.
In terms of dining, I found that breakfast can be enjoyed directly at the hotel buffet, which is equivalent to a brunch, and the cost of dinner can be freely chosen according to the individual's mood and budget. If you're looking for a simple meal, head to the Food Court, which costs only $10 for a full meal. And if you want to enjoy a good restaurant meal, you can eat for $100 to $200. In addition, I found that there are many freshly squeezed orange juice machines in the mall, and a glass is only $2, which is both cost-effective and healthy. As for water, mineral water is usually available in the hotel or can be purchased at a nearby supermarket and is not expensive.
Regarding the subway, I found that it is easy to query the subway line using the Du Niang map, as long as you confirm the direction of the train and the name of the arrival station, and the Singapore subway also has Chinese marking, which is very convenient. For example, I was going to order a pick-up car from Changi Airport for about S$400, but in the end I tried the MRT and it only cost S$2, which was like nothing at all.
Overall, don't be intimidated by language barriers or high spending, it's a great thing to be brave enough to go out and see the world. Through this trip, I deeply experienced the fun and harvest of traveling, and at the same time gained a broader understanding of the world.
