On May 15, 2024, the 72-year-old Lee Hsien Loong officially stepped down from the post of Singapore's prime minister and handed over the baton to the 51-year-old deputy prime minister and finance minister Lawrence Wong, and the swearing-in ceremony was held at the presidential palace. At the same time, Lee Hsien Loong was sworn in as Senior Minister of State and continued to serve in Singapore's Cabinet.

As early as half a year ago, I saw Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's imminent resignation TV speech from the Internet, and this year's May Day, I saw his speech again, and choked up several times, he reviewed the service that he has done for the development of Singapore for more than 20 years, from politics and economy to diplomacy, and at the same time looked forward to Singapore's position in the future world pattern. At the venue, people stood up from their seats many times and burst into warm applause.

The change of national leadership is an important moment in any country, but this time Singapore's prime minister handed over the baton very low-key, only reported by "Lianhe Zaobao", and other aspects are so calm.
