The consumption of new energy vehicles has become an important starting point for steady growth. Despite the impact of unfavorable factors such as the epidemic and chip shortage, new energy vehicles have ushered in explosive growth this year. According to data from the Provincial Bureau of Statistics, the retail sales of new energy vehicles in our province will increase by 92% year-on-year in 2021, and from January to February 2022, the growth rate will be as high as 173.2%.

What is the new energy vehicle consumer market in our province, and what new industrial opportunities are facing? This reporter conducted an investigative interview.

Almost none of the 4S stores have existing cars

Car inspection, registration, registration... On the afternoon of April 15, in the Jixi New Energy Motor Vehicle Registration Service Station located on Jingshi West Road in Jinan, the business acceptance staff was busy. At the busiest time before the Spring Festival, more than 300 new energy vehicles came to list every day.

"I used to drive a fuel car, see my relatives' new energy vehicles are good, energy-saving and environmentally friendly, and the mileage is also very high, so I changed this Volkswagen new energy vehicle." Mr. Zhang, who has just finished selecting the number plate, said that now the government encourages the purchase of new energy vehicles, and it is also very convenient to install charging piles in fixed parking spaces at home. There are more and more green cars at the beginning of the D".

In 2021, the number of new energy vehicles listed in Jinan exceeded 22,000, equivalent to 2.5 times the number of new energy vehicles listed in 2020. Bi Yubo, deputy director of the Vehicle Management Institute of the Traffic Police Detachment of the Jinan Municipal Public Security Bureau, introduced that since the beginning of this year, the willingness of citizens to purchase new energy vehicles has been stronger, as of March 23 this year, the number of new energy vehicles in Jinan has exceeded 64,000, and the number of listings in the first quarter has exceeded 10,000.

"The biggest problem now is the shortage of new energy vehicles, and the longest delivery cycle is half a year." Fang Yuan, general manager of the State Grid (Shandong) Jixi New Energy Automobile Mall, introduced that new energy vehicle brands such as Tesla, BYD, Wuling, Ideal, and Xiaopeng are now very tight, and almost all 4S stores in the park have no existing cars.

In the Xiaopeng Automobile Experience Center store in Jinan Sunac Mao, many citizens came to see the car on weekends. "On the day with the most customers, we arranged 30 test drives." The store manager Jing Lidong introduced that since the second half of last year, the consumer enthusiasm of Jinan citizens for new energy vehicles has continued to rise, and the sales volume of their store in October last year exceeded 100 for the first time, and the single-day sales volume reached 12 units on December 11.

The owner of the car calculated a financial account

The reason why new energy vehicles can lead the new trend of green consumption is closely related to the general improvement of consumers' environmental awareness, and it is inseparable from a good policy environment, perfect infrastructure facilities, and the increasing maturity of car-making technology.

Recently, the executive meeting of the State Council deployed policy measures to promote consumption, encouraging automobile consumption, supporting the consumption of new energy vehicles and the construction of charging piles have become the focus. The "List of High-quality Development Policies for "Seeking Progress in Stability in 2022" (Second Batch) issued by our province also clearly proposes to support the promotion of new energy vehicle consumption and implement the national new energy vehicle promotion and application financial subsidy policy.

As early as June last year, Jinan issued a number of policies on accelerating the promotion and application of new energy vehicles, and citizens who buy pure electric vehicles can get 3,000 yuan of charging fee subsidies, and parking can also enjoy a 50% discount.

"Up to now, Jinan has issued more than 20 million yuan of new energy vehicle charging subsidies, and Jinan has completed a total of about 35,000 charging infrastructure construction tasks." According to the relevant person in charge of Jinan Static Transportation Group, citizens can realize search, query, navigation and one-code payment at the charging stations of charging operators in the city through static traffic mini programs, basically realizing the "one network" of charging in the city.

Why choose new energy vehicles? Yang Yuncai, a citizen of Jinan, calculated an economic account for the reporter. His monthly commuting mileage is about 600 kilometers, according to gasoline 8 yuan / liter, 10 liters of fuel consumption per 100 kilometers, a month's fuel cost is nearly 500 yuan; the use of new energy vehicles with a mileage of 300 kilometers, a month needs to be charged 2 times, a time electricity cost of more than 20 yuan, a month only nearly 50 yuan, is 1/10 of the fuel cost. "Now there is a 3,000 yuan electricity subsidy for buying a car, which is enough for me to use for 5 years." He laughed and said that the price of the new energy vehicle he bought was 49,800 yuan, and the fuel cost of a few years could save the car money.

"We will explore the establishment of a green carbon travel credit system in Quancheng, where new energy car owners can enjoy a series of preferential policies such as charging, parking, maintenance and maintenance through the points." Xu Gang, director of the Electric Power Division of the Jinan Municipal Development and Reform Commission, said that this year, Jinan will also combine the task goal of building 50,000 charging infrastructure by the end of the year, accelerate the construction of charging and replacement networks, improve charging guarantee capabilities, and further release the consumption potential of new energy vehicles through these measures.

More new energy vehicles will be made in Shandong

"Promoting the consumption of new energy vehicles is of great significance for expanding the scale of consumption and promoting consumption upgrading." Zhang Lei, deputy director of the Investment and Financing Institute of the Shandong Macroeconomic Research Institute, believes that vigorously developing the new energy automobile industry is also of great significance to promoting the optimization of energy structure, ensuring energy security, improving air quality, and achieving the goal of "double carbon".

As a major automobile production province, as of the end of 2020, there are 26 new energy vehicle manufacturers in our province. Under the background of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality strategy, since 2021, the development of the new energy automobile industry in our province has entered the fast lane, and Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai, Zibo and other places have accelerated the layout of the new energy automobile industry.

In Jinan, at the end of 2021, Shandong's first 8-inch high-power chip production project was successfully connected, and in the future, new energy vehicle manufacturers will use the "Jinan core" in large quantities; the second phase of BYD power battery project will settle in Jinan, which will build a major production base for blade batteries. In Qingdao, SAIC-GM-Wuling Qingdao Branch detonated the market with the Wuling Hongguang MINI EV, and won the sales championship of China's new energy vehicle market for many consecutive months. In Yantai, on June 24, 2021, Shandong Baoya FAW Jilin New Energy Vehicle FB77 first simulated prototype vehicle rolled off the production line, and the project plans to produce 100,000 new energy vehicles per year.

"At present, the main body of the four major production workshops has been completed, and it is expected that the new model will be put into production and roll off the production line by the end of 2022." At the construction site of Jinan Geely Smart New Energy Vehicle Project, Li Conggen, executive deputy general manager of the project, introduced that the project is a new tram replacement project laid out by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group in Shandong, with a total investment of 11.2 billion yuan and an area of 725 acres, including complete four major automobile production processes and production assistance facilities. After the completion of the project, a number of models will be successively launched, all of which adopt the power exchange mode, the separation of vehicle and electricity, the annual production capacity will reach 100,000 vehicles, and the annual sales revenue is expected to exceed 10 billion yuan.

With a number of new energy vehicle projects put into operation this year, Shandong's new energy automobile industry will enter the faster lane, providing stronger momentum for our province to accelerate the conversion of new and old kinetic energy and promote industrial transformation and upgrading.
