Blockbuster Content Progress The paid DLC for cyberpunk 2077's new story will be available next year

As part of its latest earnings report, CD Projekt has confirmed that there is an update on the paid DLC previously announced by Cyberpunk 2077. Officials say it will offer a "new storyline" that is now expected to arrive next year, and more additional DLC is also in development.

After CD Projekt decided to shift its development focus to fixing the base game in response to its disastrous release in 2020, details about the paid story DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 remain limited. The developers had intended to discuss their expansion plans before the game was released, which meant that more information was long overdue.

Cyberpunk 2077's expansion has been sporadic since its release, but it seems that CD Projekt is now ready to discuss it in a more explicit way. The developer confirmed that, unsurprisingly, it will have a "new storyline" and will launch in 2023. However, that's all it's talking about so far, and more information will be shared later this year.

In addition to the paid DLC, PIOTR Nielubowicicz, vice president and chief financial officer of CD Projekt, confirmed in the developer's latest earnings report that the studio is also developing "further DLC" for the troubled game. While Nielubowicz didn't elaborate, Cyberpunk 2077 launched last August with too little limited edition free DLC content, just two jackets and a new car.

Piotr Nielubowicz added that the studio believes in the "long-term potential" of Cyberpunk 2077, which is said to have sold more than 18 million copies since its release in late 2020.

In addition to Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt's earnings report provides an update on other projects the studio is working on. In addition to the new game from the Wizarding series and the recently postponed next-generation version of The Witcher 3, the game's developer, Wild Hunt, confirmed that they are also working on derivatives of the Quint game and are working on the concept and research work of the "unannounced project."
