In this beautiful season of spring, the "Porcelain Painting Tonghui - Contemporary Porcelain Painting Art Exhibition" sponsored by the Beijing Zizhuyuan Park Management Office was opened on April 2, 2022 at the Zizhuyuan Park Palace. This exhibition uses nearly 100 pieces of contemporary porcelain painting artwork to add clay fragrance and elegant charm and different colors to the spring in Beijing. The exhibition will run until June 19.
The 20 artists from Beijing, Jiangxi, Hunan and other places, including profound painters and calligraphers, ceramic artists who have been deeply involved in the art of porcelain painting for many years and won the honor of "Master of Chinese Arts and Crafts", and cultural scholars who have crossed the cultural and artistic fields. Because of this, there are also obvious differences in the stylistic appearance of their works and the personal aesthetic pursuits that emerge from their presentations. Through the works, you can not only appreciate their respective painting skills, artistic connotations and humanistic heritage, but also feel their freedom and freedom to play with pen and ink on the porcelain blanks.
Chinese painting art and ceramic art are both an important part of traditional Chinese culture, and under the integration of the two, ceramic painting has gone through thousands of years of glory, leaving countless classics that set an example for future generations. Since the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, the way of painting on porcelain with blue and white, pastel, underglaze multicolor and other glaze and underglaze techniques has greatly enriched the types of ceramic painting and brought Chinese ceramic art into a new era of decoration.
Entering the contemporary era, ceramic painting has been integrated into the modern painting language with the times, and more and more artists have cross-border participation in various forms of ceramic painting practice, showing the diversity of painting expression with the help of the characteristics of ceramic materials, and constantly broadening the boundaries of ceramic painting. This exhibition presents the painting exploration and practice of some artists in the transformation of materials and spatial forms in the pattern of contemporary ceramic painting using porcelain as the medium.
The works on display in the "Porcelain Painting Tonghui - Contemporary Porcelain Painting Art Exhibition" are mainly blue and white, with underglaze multicolor, pastel, new color and a small number of high-temperature color glaze works, and the theme of porcelain painting is mainly landscapes, flowers, birds and figures. It is worth mentioning that some of the exhibited works are created by artists in Beijing in the "Li Lin Ceramic Art Studio" in Beijing, and Mr. Li Lin is personally responsible for the design, firing and supervision of the whole process, and Li Lin is also the initiator of this exhibition activity.
This exhibition is also the second time that the Palace of Zizhuyuan Park in Beijing has held a ceramic art theme exhibition after the 2021 "Distant Mountains Spring Color" celadon exhibition.
