preface
The TA200 is Samsung's classic dispenser charger, which adopts USB-A output interface and has two outputs of 5V2A and 9V1.67A. Among them, the newer batch has cut the QC fast charging protocol and only supports Samsung AFC fast charging. For Samsung mobile phones, fast charging is no problem, as other 5V uses, it is also a charger with good quality and workmanship. The charging head network has obtained the latest batch of TA200, and the following will bring you disassembly to see if there are changes in the internal program.
The charging head network has been disassembled Samsung Galaxy S10 original 15W charger EP-TA200 and Samsung US version 15W original AFC fast charger EP-TA200, you can click on the blue font to view the disassembly report of the same model charger in the past.
Samsung 15W charger out of the box
The Samsung 15W charger uses a white shell made of PC material, the pin end shell is slightly smaller, and the top edge is slightly larger, and the design is very distinctive.
Charger parameters are printed on the other side of the fuselage
Product model: EP-TA200
Input: 100-240V~50/60Hz 0.5A
Output: 5V2A, 9V1.67A
The product has passed CCC certification and Level VI energy efficiency certification.
The charger is equipped with a fixed GB pin.
The top face has a single USB-A connector, white tongue plate, center layout.
The measured charger body height was 56.63mm.
The width is 36.51mm.
The thickness is 23.38mm.
Compared with the Apple 20W charger, the fuselage is thinner, thinner and longer.
That's the size of the hand.
Net weight approx. 45g.
The charger measured using the ChargerLAB POWER-Z KT002 only supports Samsung's own AFC fast charging protocol.
Samsung 15W charger disassembly
After having a basic understanding of the Samsung 15W charger, the following continues to disassemble it, let's take a look at the material workmanship of the product.
Detach the charger from the top housing seam.
Remove the internal PCBA module, and the USB-A interface at the output is designed with a dust jacket, and the left and right sides are a Y capacitor and an output filter solid capacitor.
The input is provided with a safety resistor, two filter electrolytic capacitors are horizontally positioned, the capacitor is fixed with the transformer glue, and the USB-A mother is insulated with an insulated housing, which is fixed with the glue between the transformer and the transformer.
On the output side is a Y capacitor and USB-A female, and on the right is a solid capacitor for output filtering. The USB-A mother housing is fixed with a transformer using white glue.
The back switch tube area is coated with glue to enhance heat dissipation, while the glue is also used to secure the primary isolation plate. The AC input is connected to the PCB via shrapnel inside the pin.
At a glance on the front of the PCB, the components are densely arranged and the space utilization rate is very high.
On the back are, in turn, the rectifier bridge, the primary master control chip, the optocoupler, the primary switch tube, the protocol chip and the synchronous rectifier tube, which are insulated by slotting and isolation plates between the primary stages.
The length of the PCBA module was measured using a vernier caliper of 51.6mm.
The PCBA module width is 31.3mm.
The thickness is approximately 13.6mm.
Close-up of the input safety resistor, jacketed insulated tube, specifications of 2.8Ω, 2W.
The input terminal rectifier bridge is from STAR SEA Changzhou Xinghai, RABF2510, for fast recovery rectifier bridge, Samsung custom model.
Input filter capacitor from Fongbin, 12μF 400V.
Differential mode inductance, using I-core, jacket heat shrinkable tube insulation.
The second filter capacitor, also from Fongbin, is 15μF 400V. Due to the small power of this charger, the X capacitor and common mode inductance commonly found in high-power chargers are not used, and the circuit is relatively simplified.
Come to the back of the PCB, the power supply main control chip model SLM7717C, from South Korea Soluum.
Filter capacitor to power the primary PWM controller, from Fongbin, 15μF 25V.
Primary switch tube from SemiHow, Korea, model HCT70R1K6, super junction NMOS tube, withstand voltage 750V, conductivity 1.35Ω, using SOT223 package.
The switch transformer is close-up, using a planar transformer, the primary winding adopts a PCB winding, and the secondary adopts a planar coil structure.
The transformer secondary coil uses a plastic skeleton, which is also a flat process.
The synchronous rectifier controller and protocol chip are integrated inside a single chip, the Solum SLM7620B, in a QFN-16 package.
Synchronous rectifier tube from Huchuang International, model SFTN6015MP.
1008 optocoupler for output voltage feedback regulation.
The output filter capacitor is a solid capacitor with a specification of 330μF 12V.
Y capacitors are outleted on both sides to reduce the thickness.
Output USB-A female, via soldering, jacket dust cover for sealing.
All disassembled, let's take a family portrait.
Charging head net disassembly summary
The Samsung TA200 charger cancels the support of QC2.0, only supports Samsung AFC fast charging, and can only output 5V except for Samsung mobile phones. Although this charger does not support fast charging of other devices, it does an excellent job as a 5V output charger, which is quite good for charging small fans and mice.
The charging head network learned through disassembly that Samsung's 2022 batch of TA200 charger was internally replaced with Solum's power management solution, using SemiHow primary switch tube, Fengbin electrolytic capacitor with planar transformer, and using synchronous rectification, the output uses solid capacitor filtering, and the overall material is still very solid.
