Li Peifu, born in October 1953, is a native of Xuchang, Henan. He once served as the deputy editor-in-chief of Mangyuan magazine, the vice chairman of the Henan Provincial Federation of Literature and Literature, and the chairman of the Provincial Writers Association. He began publishing in 1978. He is the author of "The Gate of the Sheep", "The Lamp of the City", "The Book of Life", "The Guest of the Plains", "The Golden House" and other novels. In 2015, he won the 9th Mao Dun Literature Award for his work "Book of Life".
He was also the winner of the first Silver Book Award (Fiction Category) of the "Spring Wind Reading List" (at that time, it was not finally named "Spring Wind"), which was his masterpiece, and later won the Mao Prize's novel "Book of Life".
Ten years ago, in the winter, Li Peifu was delighted to receive a call from a reporter from Qian Bao in Zhengzhou, informing him that he had won the Silver Award, so he came to Hangzhou for the first time.

"I went to Hangzhou for the first time, when I first went to Suzhou in the 1970s and 1980s, I went to Nanjing, but Hangzhou has never been, in fact, I want to know about Hangzhou, because Hangzhou has a lot to do with Kaifeng, Henan." In this part of Henan, the Song Dynasty was a glorious period before, and it has fallen after the Song Dynasty. I have been writing about the culture of the Central Plains for many years, and with this opportunity, I went, I looked at the West Lake, saw Hangzhou, ate the food of Hangzhou, left a very good and beautiful impression, and it was also the first time that I came into contact with this award for all of you.
As a result, more and more Jiangnan people, through the Qianjiang Evening News and the spread of the Yue Reading Festival, learned about such a gentle and elegant, good-looking Henan writer.

"As a person, it was reading that changed my life. I first started my literary life, I started reading, after reading a lot of literary works, slowly, I fell in love with writing. At first I started by writing about the small area of my hometown that I was familiar with, and later, with time, as the face of life unfolded, it gradually expanded to the whole plain. I found 5,000 years of Chinese civilization, so what is civilization? I think that civilization begins with words, and human beings use the form of words to fix the blood, tears, experiences, and wisdom of predecessors in words and convey them to future generations. In this sense, the only place that can be called the birthplace of Chinese civilization is the Central Plains. Because the oracle bone was excavated in Anyang, Henan, the Central Plains is the birthplace of civilization. I slowly understood the land of the Central Plains from small to large, and later the contact area became wider and wider, which is also the spiritual pulse of my writing.
"I used to like to walk around various counties for many years, and after running more than ten counties, I liked to read various county chronicles. Historically, the Central Plains was a land of great calamity. Looking at the county records before liberation, some words appear frequently, such as hunger, which appears more frequently, and the great famine. The words that appear again are more eye-catching: cannibalism. This part of the Central Plains is the best land in history, a horse Pingchuan, China has four major rivers, three flowing through Henan, the Yellow River, the Huai River, Jishui, Jishui was later eaten by the Yellow River. Henan has four distinct seasons, with an average temperature of 16.8 degrees, which is the most suitable place for human survival, so it is also a place where inserts and sticks can sprout, so before the Song Dynasty, it was very good. After the Song Dynasty, because of frequent wars and chaos, the people did not have a good life, so it declined year by year, and Henan basically declined. I have been studying such a very good place, why it lagged behind later, the Central Plains people, and only after the reform and opening up, in the past thirty years, the Central Plains people have really eaten enough. I just want to study what the state of life of the people in the Central Plains here is, and I just keep studying our land, why we have become who we are now, this is the direction of my research.
This plain is slowly no longer the concrete plain in Li Peifu's eyes, but has become the plain in his heart, but it has a direction and a foundation, and he has continuously cultivated this central plains in his literary creation, he writes about the relationship between man and the land, and writes about people as plants.
"When I was a person who wrote and wrote the Book of Life, because the first sentence was not found, 70,000 or 80,000 words were discarded. I need to seek the direction of the language, the emotions of the words. So I went back to my hometown, found a village to live in for three months, brought some instant noodles to eat, re-familiarized with the Taiping region, re-familiarized with an inch of land, and then suddenly one day, I found the first sentence of the book: 'I am a seed', I finally found the direction of this long language, and finally I can write down. ”
"Every time I start writing, it's difficult for me." This Henan writer, who has been writing non-stop, said so.
However, since "Book of Life" reached the top of the Mao Dun Literature Award, Li Peifu has not stopped and still works hard. Nowadays, after unloading all kinds of work as the chairman of the Henan Provincial Writers Association, Li Peifu, who is close to the "rare year of ancient times", lives on the outskirts of Zhengzhou, leaves the hustle and bustle of the city's cars and horses, ushers in the send-off, cherishes life and cherishes time, and also pays more attention to his reading and writing.
This "fertile land" of the Central Plains is also the "fertile soil" of literature, and he has too many things he wants to dig up and express.
In recent years, he has published several more novels. Among them, two influential novels, "PingyuanKe" is an anti-corruption novel set in the Central Plains, and the characters in the book also have archetypes of Henan official characters, in which he deeply excavates the complexity of human nature.
His latest novel "Heluotu" has been reprinted many times, is a novel set in the heyday of Kangqian in the Qing Dynasty, when the Qianjiang Evening News hourly news reporter asked whether there is a prototype for this novel, Li Peifu said in a word, "My novel, the prototype is now a tourist attraction in Henan Kang Million Manor, writing the history of this family's fortune." ”
"Heluotu" is based on the million family of Gongyi Kang in Henan, and writes the entrepreneurial history of several generations centered on Kang Xiucai, Zhou Tinglan, and Kang Xiewen, from the "Cultivating and Reading Family" to the "Central Plains God of Wealth". Li Peifu said that during the Ming and Qing dynasties, the three major gods of wealth formed in Chinese civil society, Gongyi Kang Million is one of the most solid by the existing historical relics, the Kang Family Manor has left us a huge space for imagination, the Kang Family is the master of Yu Shang, and the Kang Family's business philosophy and family management strategy still have practical guiding significance.
In the future, if you want to go to Henan, you can go to the legendary, huge Kang Million Manor to punch in, you may wish to take this "Heluotu" and read it while walking. Read history, read regional culture, and read a living person.
After ten years, even if it has long been "successful and famous", writing is still Li Peifu's life state. As he himself put it, "Every time, it's a fresh start.".
