In the twentieth century, China experienced many vicissitudes, the national fortunes rose and fell, and the people's morale fluctuated. Such an era, for artists, is both a difficult time and a magnificent time. Many talented artists give up on the road of art because of the environment, because of life, because of various human factors. Some people originally regard art as a stepping stone to open the door of fame and fortune, and when they find that this knocking brick cannot knock on the door of fame and fortune, they will abandon art casually. And true artists regard art as a part of life, and once they survive, they will not stop exploring and pursuing art. They seek the true meaning of art in turmoil, they seek the wonders of life in hardship, they do not become depressed and depressed for the sinister environment of life, they do not wither away from the twists and turns of their personal destiny, and the ideal of art is like the sun hidden behind the dark clouds for them, although they will be shrouded in darkness for a long time, but they will eventually pull away the dark clouds and let the brilliant sunshine sprinkle the garden they have worked hard to cultivate. As Victor Hugo said, "It is also a good thing that thorns are on the road of art, and ordinary people are discouraged, except for those who are strong-willed." ”

Mr. Guan Hoe-fei is such a strong-willed artist.

I know that Guan Hofei's name is in the 1990s, when he was already an old man in his early eighties. I heard about his experience before I saw his paintings. Guan Hoefei's experience is legendary. In the 1930s, he studied at the Shanghai Fine Arts College and was a proud protégé of the Chinese painting master Huang Binhong. Huang Binhong once prophesied: "If the pipe hoe is not famous, it is already famous, and if it becomes famous, it is everyone." After leaving school, many of his classmates became famous artists in the art world and became famous masters at home and abroad. But he almost disappeared, and some people even thought that he was no longer alive. So, where has he been and what has he been doing in these decades? Why did he disappear? This secret was not known to the world until the early nineties. During these decades, he experienced unimaginable human suffering, both physical and spiritual. He had suffered great grievances and lost precious freedom. In the hustle and bustle of the crowd, he was criticized and blinded; in the deserted wilderness and the temple, he endured hunger and frostbite. In the most difficult years, humiliation, loneliness, poverty and hunger surrounded him, but he did not despair, because he had a loyal friend, and this friend was art. On the rough journey, in the lonely predicament, he never put down the brush in his hand, and never stopped the pursuit of painting art. He regarded art as the goal of life and the driving force of life, and the light of art illuminated his dark and desolate path of life, so that he finally walked out of the swamp of destiny. When his exhibition was miraculously released to the world, people saw a chinese painter with a broad mind and an otherworldly vision, and the thousands of weather he wrote were intoxicating. The scenes shown in his works are not only the beautiful scenery of nature, but also the wonderful spiritual realm of an indomitable artist. Guan Hoefei has a special love for plum blossoms, and the most fascinating and fascinating of his works is plum blossoms. The plum blossoms he painted, from those vigorous and withered branches, can feel the disasters and indomitables of life, and from those gentle flowers, they can also amaze people in the beauty and purity of life. After enduring the wind, snow, frost and hardships, and finally blooming high and lush flowers, these plum blossoms are the portrayal of the painter's bumpy life and artistic career.

I am not an art critic and cannot make any authoritative evaluation of Guan Hoefei's painting art. I believe that in the history of Chinese art, Guan Hoefei's paintings will have their own proper evaluation and status. I also believe that a painter who has devoted his life's efforts and feelings to the end of the pen, a painter who sincerely pours out his love of life and nature with the brush, his works will certainly have vitality. Since the calamities and tribulations failed to annihilate his beauty-loving personality, and since the passage of time failed to drown out his artistic talents, the worldly prejudices and utilitarian weights could not belittle the Danqing he left to the world, nor could they deny their artistic value.

Mr. Guan Hoe fei is a painter and a poet. Writing poetry and painting is a pursuit that he has never given up in his life, and his sorrows, his sorrows, his joys, his observations and reflections on human nature and the world, through his poems and paintings, have been fully expressed. His paintings and poems are a combination of pearls, and on each painting, you can read his old-style poems with full of emotion and full of erotic philosophy. His poems and his paintings are voices from the soul. His poems are the paintings of his heart, and his paintings are the voices of his heart.

Mr. Guan Hoe-fei once had a relationship with me before he died. At that time, although he was over eighty years old, he was a crane-haired child, and his speech and demeanor exuded vitality and vitality. When I listened to him talk about his experience, my heart trembled. However, his expression was calm and his tone was idyllic. He said to me, "The world is changeable, human feelings are impermanent, but the laws of nature are eternal." I can live to this day, paint to this day, but also nature's love for me. Behind these short and profound words of his, there should be as a commentary on how many bloody and tearful stories should be used as a commentary. I thought that if I told people about his experience, it would definitely make people love art more and love life more. When we were about to break up that day, Mr. Guan Hofei casually waved ink to write two of his poems for me: "The long rope tied the nose of the green cow and led across the Cuiwei on the creek bridge." Only this side of the scenery is good, thousands of red comfrey grass. "I became friends with Aoniu and accompanied chao in Yamaoka. Spring wind and summer rain are passed, and the scorching sun and frost may also be good. These are two of his seven-part poem "Cattle Herding", written in 1975, and they are his songs in the midst of suffering. I watched him silently write these old verses in cursive without hesitation, full of smoke and clouds, depicting the life of a gray era poetically and movingly. His poetry and calligraphy made me feel his pure heart that loved life and loved life.

Mr. Guan Hoe-fei has been dead for many years, but his artistic life has continued. Mr. Guan Zihong, the eldest son of Mr. Guan Hoe Fei, very carefully collected and sorted out the poems left by his father, and compiled this yangyang grand view of the "Selected Poems of Guan Hoe Non-Old Style", in which we can read most of the poems written by Mr. Guan Ho Fei in his life. The poems in the book are soul messages written with true feelings and painstaking efforts, from which we can enter the artist's rich and tortuous spiritual world, marvel at the beauty of the mountains and rivers of the motherland, feel the rich world, understand a great era of change, and also feel the true meaning of art and life. These poems are the flowers of the soul that never fade.

Reading Mr. Guan Hoe Fei's poetry manuscript, recalling the past, and writing down these feelings one after another is also to express my sincere respect for Mr. Guan Ho Fei. (Zhao Lihong)
