The "Five Stars Out of the East and Benefiting China" in the exhibition "Why China" is exhibited in the Han Dynasty brocade armband, which is collected in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum. It was discovered in October 1995 by members of the Academic Expedition Team of the Sino-Japanese Niya Ruins in Minfeng County, Hotan District, Xinjiang, in an ancient tomb, with rounded corners, 18.5 cm long and 12.5 cm wide, made of brocade, edged with white silk, and three white silk ribbons about 21 cm long and 1.5 cm wide, 3 of which were broken. There are eight seal Chinese characters woven: "Five Stars Out of the East and China". It was appraised as a national first-class cultural relic by the State Cultural Relics Appraisal Committee, and the first batch of cultural relics in China that were forbidden to go abroad (border) for exhibition, and was hailed as one of the greatest discoveries of Chinese archaeology in the 20th century.
In 2021, the Capital Museum held the "Ten Thousand Years Eternal Treasure - Exhibition of Cultural Relics Protection Achievements in Chinese Collections", and the "Five-Star Out of the East and Benefiting China" JinHu is an important exhibit of the fourth part of "Fanghua".
The pattern of the "Five Stars Out of the East and Li China" brocade arm guard generally uses mountain-like clouds as the skeleton, and is continuously spread along the weft of the brocade. From the right, there are two birds, unicorns and tigers, accompanied by the inscription "Five Stars Out of the East and China", and the two dots next to the inscription represent two of the five stars. In the process, this brocade adopts 1:4 plain grain warp re-organization, the entire pattern is not divided into color areas, are woven in blue, green, red, yellow, white five colors, warp density 220 roots / cm, weft density 24 roots / cm, pattern warp cycle has 84 wefts, 7.4 cm, far greater than the ordinary Han brocade, is currently known to have the largest density of warp threads, the most difficult to weave Han brocade, is the representative of the highest technology of Han brocade.
In 2018, based on four loom models excavated from the Han Tomb of Laoguanshan in Chengdu, the technicians completely restored the Han Dynasty jacquard loom and its jacquard weaving technology system "Han machine weaving Han brocade", and used multi-comprehensive jacquard weaving technology to reproduce the "five-star oriental Li China" brocade arm guard.
The "five stars" mentioned in the "five stars out of the East and China" refers to the five planets of water, fire, wood, metal and earth; "Dongfang" is a specific celestial dome location in ancient Chinese astrology, and "China" refers to the Gyeonggi region and the Central Plains in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, which is a geographical concept. "Five stars out of the East" means that five planets appear in the eastern sky at the same time in the same period, that is, the phenomenon of "five stars and pearls" or "five stars gathering"; "five stars out of the east to benefit China", that is, the appearance of five stars to see the east of the celestial phenomenon, is beneficial to the major events of the Chinese military state. Through the study of the tapestry "five-star gathering", scientists have deduced that there will be a rare five-star gathering astronomical spectacle on September 9, 2040.
