The artist's favorite subject matter: from figures to still lifes

In his long-term artistic creation, Yang Limin has penetrated the bits and pieces of the world's walking process, creatively blending Eastern and Western paintings with keen observation and extraordinary expression - his favorite themes are: indoor figures, still lifes (usually objects next to the characters) and landscapes, and the angles he chooses are ordinary and unique, showing human beings' beautiful attachment to nature. Yang's art is both sensual and full of thought. After a long period of unremitting experimentation and exploration, he created a special set of new painting techniques. Rooted in China, he integrated the West and successfully bridged the cultural divide between the East and the West.

figure

Yang's figure paintings absorbed the essence of the Japanese ukiyo-e painter and Western painter Matisse in the 1930s, as well as the Vialle school of Interiorism. He uses innovative and unique techniques to depict the daily life of the characters indoors, blending the characters into the background, while every still life next to the characters, decoration is also a part of the painting that cannot be ignored. For example, in his 2002 work "XiaoFang", the young heroine is dressed in a black dress, which looks like a dark pattern on the wallpaper behind her, which contrasts with the flower basket opposite the character and the blue sky through the window behind it. The Kitchen (120X180.5cm), completed in 1999, draws on the style of the French painter André Braggiere. Braggili himself was deeply influenced by Japanese painters, and was good at depicting poetic scenes with abstract shapes and bright colors. In addition, it is a typical work of his, "Holiday" (57X45cm) completed in 2002, in which the artist uses a large area of yellow tones to create a relaxed and comfortable picture atmosphere.

Still

Still life, if translated directly from French, the word still life should be translated as "dead thing, inanimate object", Chinese the translation of still life comes from the English "immovable object". And Yang Limin's still life is full of vitality and vitality. He does not intend to describe the interaction of color and the visual combination of space in a specific space, but to help people use imagination to obtain visual beauty by means of perception.

The painting "Blue Sky", the white clouds on the hillside, stands still, and the red and pink flowers and grasses are full of vitality, reflecting the powerful life force of nature. The artist uses rice paper and Chinese painting colors to show the sensory effect that modern painting can bring. "Autumn Leaves", "Pink Memory", "Flower Season" these works are all based on the theme of flowers, with abstract geometric patterns, in a contrasting way to deliberately express the brilliance and brilliance of red. Yang's use of form reminds me of the surrealist work of the British contemporary artist Lucien Freud. Of course, the comparison between the two is not to say that they are similar in style, but their pursuit of freedom, the beauty of life, and their artistic expression that is not constrained by any rules.

Yang Baimin lived in the era of great social change in China. The current confrontation facing China is no less than the changes in Western society when they were in ruins after World War II. After the economic take-off before the 1970s, Western countries have been in a slow stage of development in recent decades, and may have forgotten the great changes at that time, so that there are many places that cannot be understood in China's current society.

It is particularly worth mentioning that in recent years, the international influence of Chinese artists has been greatly enhanced, and the works of Chinese artists have attracted more and more attention from collectors. The artist's sense of mission and the development opportunity of the times have inspired Yang Yumin to create more creative inspiration and his higher and more unique aesthetic pursuit in art. In addition, with the continuous advancement of his artistic creation, the works presented are also more international. His artistic practice can make viewers in France and even the world feel the brilliance and vigorous vitality of his art, as well as the influence of his artistic innovation on our times.
